Dexter THE 9 HT BOA Color Shift
« on: January 06, 2023, 05:52:32 PM »
I purchased a pair of these (Dexter THE 9 HT BOA Color Shift) a few months ago to replace an old pair of SST 8's.  They came in a wide width which I have to have for super wide feet. Included was THE7 slide sole.  I tried them out and I literally couldn't slide with them.  I tried several games but my slide knee was sore after just a few games.  I purchased two additional replacement soles of 8 & 9.  Same thing.  I then tried an 11 which was way to slippery.  Anyone have any problems with these or can provide help as what to do?

I recently got a pair of the C9 Lazer BOA to replace my old SS6 shoes.  The S7 slide sole they came barely slid and almost launched me onto the lane during my first practice slide, lol.  I replaced the the slide sole and heel to match what I have on the SS6, which was the S12 sole and H7 heel.  This combo has worked well on the sticky approaches where I bowl.  At first they seemed a little too slippery, but after 1 game they settled in and are perfect now.  Give yours a chance to break in first and see how they are then.  If they're still too slippery, maybe try the S10 sole?

I know that what you mean about the slides on the THE C9s. I got a pair or THE c9 sidewinders and had the same problem with sticking on the approach. I threw on the 12 and the 7 heal as well and everything was fine.
The problem that I have is, I knew going in I needed the 12 and 7 . For 250 bucks for a pair of shoes I should be able to select the soles when I buy the shoes. Instead I end up paying additional 50 bucks for the correct soles. I love the shoes but the 300$ is a little over the top in my humble opinion.
