Title: Don Carter Style wrist brace
Post by: LuckyLefty on January 07, 2007, 03:01:14 PM
Well these things are OLD.

Sort of a palm pad with a cushion and then a metal bar only in the back.

I had tried them before when I had a really stretched span and liked them...but the palm pad had a tendancy to want to kick my thumb out of the ball a little too quick.

Saw a guy today using one and I said...hmmmm somewhere in my bag I have one with that palm pad....(His was a glove with a metal backing and the palm pad).
Mine is just a small wrist brace with a stiff back and palm pad.

I was using a more relaxed span and put on ....and sweet!
NO extra revs(I tend to get my most revs without a wrist brace!).

But this palm pad was a much better fit with a slightly shorter than stretched span.  INSTANTLY i noticed more push for the ball and a slight feeling of more tilt and a feeling of being a slightly lower track almost a semispinner.

I really was getting a very nice reaction after I put this on!

In comparison to my little leather Robbie's wrist minder...with the Robbies I get a firn ride but a heavier roll....(than this Don Carter wrist brace) and a seemingly a higher track!

For today's version...(it's a glove).

From Buddie's

Buddies'  (http://"http://www.buddiesproshop.com/product/2392/Ebonite_ReactorR_Palm_Pad_Glove.htm")

Interesting change in roll.  Bowled nicely with it!

PS...ball seems to stay on fingers with this little cheapy for approx 1/2 hour on each throw.

Movin to the top as I was so impressed with the "push" I had on the ball with this little device.

Also impressed with how long the ball just seemed to take a nap on my fingers!
