Title: Dyno-Thane Dynorooz shoes
Post by: TDC57 on January 02, 2006, 01:05:46 PM
Has anyone used The Dynothane Sport Deluxe shoes? They have a synthetic upper and I was wondering if they hold up very well. I have seen synthetics from other companies fall apart pretty fast. Can anyone give any info on these?

I have the S1500-03 Black/Black

They hold up very well, the only thing that wears is the toe cap which is entirely my form, a very well built shoe, just like all dynorooz. I put about 10+ games a week on them, had them for 6 months, and they look brand new still. thats more than 240 games not including tournies, which i bowl maybe 2-3 a month, and still going nicely.

Thanks Kid, but those have a leather upper. I'm talking about the S950-04. It has a synthetic leather upper and I was wondering if anyone had any information on them.

My wife has the S740-03(also synthetic).  She has about 20 games on them and the only thing that I can see is the break-in of the toe area is a little more difficult.  She is a tip-toe bowler so this may be the problem.
I went with the S1500-04 (leather), and the only problem I had was the shoe laces broke after 3 games.
I will ask some of my buddies if they know anything about the shoes you are referring to.

Tony,
I was able to find 1 of my buddies with the shoes you are referring to.  He is a once a week, mixed league bowler.  He loves the shoes, but told me that if he bowled more (2-3x a week) he would definately go with the leather versions.  The sports are light, comfortable, and well made.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.

sbla,

Thanks for the info. I did purchase the Sport Deluxe. After wearing leather since I started bowling, this was something that made me nervous. After wearing them to bowl 3 times I love them. They are light and I think the material they are made of will last me a long time. ( I am not hard on shoes) They seem to have a high quality synthetic leather and since I have been wearing the same type of material for years to play softball and never had a problem I am confident I made a good decision. Thanks for all your help! Oh, one thing. You mentioned the shoe laces, the ones my shoes have are already showing some fraying. Maybe Dynothane should think about a higher quality lace!!

Yeah, the laces suck.  But I know of at least 1 post where someone had called up Dyno and gotten new laces sent to them.  Personally going to Payless was easier for me than waiting a week.
