Valentino's Franken Tape
« on: June 06, 2008, 11:13:47 AM »
As long it was in the sample pack I ordered, I figured I might as well try it.

I thought I had no use for it, since I use tape that covers the back of my thumb and I use the white contoured thumb inserts.

So I stuck a piece in the back of the thumb hole. I have white textured tape in the front of the thumb hole, for sizing purposes. When I threw it, I had no friction at all inthe back of the thumb hole. Hunh? The ball slipped right off. I had to add another piece of white tape to the front. Now the hole was tight, almost like some of the theorists take about, but not uncomfortably tight. Now the release seemed a little better; more controlled yet simpler and more natural.

Glad the sample had 15 pieces or so; I think I'm going to try it in my other balls. And I thought the contoured thumb insert was slippery.

I think this is a good thing. but I'll have to see how it works out. When I have more to tell you, I'll let you know.
