Agreed, what they are doing by default with the sole is something i've played with for years in using cut pads on the bottoms of my dexters to get the amount of slide I want.

The cleat sole on my 3G Tour Ultra's can be set up with increasing amounts of friction from front to rear with up to six(6) different levels of traction. There are also five(5) other soles available for selecting the perfect slide.

The adjust-a-heel on my Tour Ultra's features a smooth, hard rubber heel with three(3) different insert strips for differing amounts of slide. There are also five(5) other heels available for selecting the perfect slide.

The pushoff shoe of my Tour Ultra's are made of a Kevlar/rubber blend for superior traction and feature a replaceable toe cap.

The Tour Ultra's uppers are made from kangaroo leather which is superior to cowhide in both strength and suppleness.

The Tour Ultra's are a tried and tested model and have been available for some time now. These shoes from Etonic look interesting but I'll stick with my 3G Tour Ultra's.

I'm sticking with my Dexters.  Even though these look interesting, the pro shop near me pulled all of the Etonics out and decided to stop carrying them due to quality issues.  Now they just carry Dexter, 3G, and Brunswick.

The issue mainly was the overall quality.  Apparently some of the more recent Etonic shoes according to the pro shop ended up having seams that broke apart, and some would just flat out wear faster.  Now, I have not worn Etonic in the past so I really can't make my own decision on it.  However, I have worn Dexter for a while and they do a good job.

Does the quality of some of the more recent Etonic shoes mean that these will have the same issues?  No it doesn't.  Is it worth mentioning?  Yes, because it could be a possibility.  Only time will tell how these do.  Also, this was not the normal pro shop guy I went to (my normal shop was closed for the Memorial Day holiday) so I will have to ask his opinion to really see if it truly is the case.

I really like the idea behind this shoe.  But they could have designed a better looking shoe to put this on, maybe a upgraded all black dress

You pro shop lied to you Etonics quality is far beyond Dexters. How many of the high end Etonic shoes have you ever seen brought back versus the SST series.

I haven't seen anyone wearing Etonics around these parts. I can get 3G Tour Ultra's online for LESS than the Etonics.

Its an interesting concept but I worry about the strength of the velcro and whether or not the individual slide soles will curl up over time like Dexters have a tendency to do.  Thats why I love my 3Gs because they have the slide sole in the center and the stitched edging so that it doesnt peel back on you.  Plus I've heard that the Etonics don't have the best quality and if I'm spending $155 at Buddies for these..they better last me.
