I don't use black. As for white, I use Ebonite's, but when I've used others I never noticed a difference.

I use the AMF tape for both colors, I also sometimes use the Ebonite black tape because it's a lot thicker, just depends on the weather.

Prefer Bowlers Tape. Currently have Ebonite white tape have noticed it is thicker. Also like using 3/4.

No to the black; I also use AMF tape, white 3/4" to be exact.  The AMF tape holds up longer, as far as the texture.  My second choice is Master.  I've found it to be about as close to the AMF tape than others.

I've used other brands, but have found either: the adhesive isn't as strong, the texture is terrible, no texture at all(white tape), feels flimsy or putty like.

I've seen some bowlers use athletic tape or electrical tape.

I use both from Ebonite since it's what my pro shop sells and very long lasting.

I don't think there's a huge difference in different brands though.

i tend to favor the amf tape.  i use the 1"white, 1" neon and 3/4" neon, depending on the fit im looking for.  the neon is great because its thiner than the white but thicker than the black and its textured.  you can find the neon tape on ebay and its a good addition for when white is too much and black is not enough.

I don't use the black tape at all, but I use the Ebonite 1" white tape.  I like the feel and it's cheaper than the AMF tape.

I prefer Storm 3/4" White Tape. It is a wee bit smoother than some white tapes.

Ditto, I only use white tape presently.  They all feel about the same.  I use Ebonite and have used Storm, Brunswick, AMF.  Ebonite is cheapest.

Now black tape, there were some differences.  AMF was the best black tape.  Pretty thin and stuck well.  Other company's tape seem thicker, wouldn't bend right.  Also, didn't seem to stick very well.

All White Tapes are not the same....

Here is the difference between the surface texture of White Tapes

Coarest Texture...............Master & AMF

Less Coarsesr Texture....Brunswick & Ebonite

Smoothest Texture.........Columbia & Storm

I cannot say much about Black Tape as I seldom use it, but when I do use it, I use AMF as it seems to be the most flexable and stick the best. For me, the worse is Ebonite as it is thicker and doesn't stick well and I have had it fall out of the thumb hole somewhere betwen the time I threw my ball and got it back off the ball return.
