I just bought a pair. Is there a chart as to what the soles and heels do? I would like to know what each does in combination with each other. How do you know what to start with and what changes do you make?

Then old dynothane site had a complete chart on them, Tony M. might still have the pdf i forgot his user name here. He disappeared and have not seen a sighting of him on here in months.

Is there not information provided in the shoe box?

I did not see any
There is everything else in the box. Don't know why there are no instructions.
The shoes do feel like slippers on your feet. I hope they support the foot well. I would think they will being they're the top of the line

here are the ways you can set-up your slide with your tour ultra's:
soles( most slide to least )
felt( dark grey ) optional
chrome leather( light tan )
deerskin( cream )
backskin( orange )
oiled leather( brown )
there is also a cleat sole that is made of backskin. there are cleats or little discs that you insert in the cleat sole for a customized slide.
heels( most slide to least )
leather
flat hard rubber( grey ) optional
flat normal rubber( white )
grooved rubber
rippled rubber optional
there is also an adjust-a-heel you can order. it's a white rubber heel with three little leather strips that insert in the front edge of the heel to customize your slide.
it's because of these options to customize your slide that the 3G tour ultra's are the top of the line shoe.

Thanks Greg,
But how do the cleats come into play? The cleat sole is a given slide rating, so how does using the various cleats with it work? How do you gauge this?

because there are round holes in the cleat sole( see photo at www.900global.com ) there isn't as much of the backskin material in contact with the approach as you would think. by trying out various combinations of cleats( discs ) you can make your slide tailor-made. i don't use it as the deerskin sole and the hard rubber heel work great for me. i won't go back to dexter shoes as i could never find the right set-up for a great slide. i liked my linds exxxtras but their customer service really upset me over a trivial little matter. the 3G tour ultra'as are the best....the sport elite cabretta's are a close second.
