My pro tells me he always recommends replacing both finger grips at the same time. My untrained eye tells me only the left one needs replacing on each of 3 different balls. At $5 bucks each, that is a $15 difference.
How important is replacing both at the same time?

To me that is like having one shoe destroyed and just buying one shoe. Eventually the older one will need replaced as well anyway.

I replace my grips every 20-30 games or once a month, whichever comes first. Between the California heat and Vacu install, they stretch pretty fast and I can feel it.

Thanks for the tip. I assume that the finger insert will have the size somewhere on it. So when you remove it, you will know what size to order. What kind of glue do you use? The Pro Shop on this website offers Turbo insert glue for $15.00, but I am guessing that there are generic super glues that are just as effective.

Support your local business and let your pro shop do it unless they are clueless. Keep them from closing their doors. If you have a good rapport with your local shop they would replace at a respectable price like $5 per set.

Yes, they all have the size on them. You should use the same brand to keep the right size. For example, I use Contour Power grips in 25/32" and 3/4" BUT if I use Vise-Grips, as I do sometimes, I need to order 49/64" and 47/64", 1/64" smaller than Contour, because the Vise-Grips are slightly larger for the same size.
Normally I use LocTite Super Glue gel formula; I get it from Home Depot or Lowe's. Gel is much easier to measure out one drop. I use one drop on each side of the grip; that holds them in place forever. I use a 1/8" slotted screwdriver to pry them loose, when I replace them. (I use the same screwdriver to insert tape in the thumb hole.)

I live around the corner from Metro Bowl in Fair Lawn, NJ and frequently walk to the pro shop from my home. Metro Bowl has been in business for 35 + years and is a unique operation---a stand alone prop shop unattached to a bowling facility. I have a good relationship with proprietor Mickey Heitler. I have purchased many items over the years from Mickey: balls, bags, shoes, cleaners, tapes, etc. For the larger items, I have always gone to Metro Bowl rather than purchase them online. I may or may not replace the inserts myself, but I like having the option of a "do it yourself" project (however small).
