Title: Linds in 2022 -- sizing question, and quality
Post by: Wildcard on August 17, 2022, 10:00:06 PM
Does anybody here wear Linds anymore?

I have a question about sizing. I'm planning on getting a pair of classic wide via Bowlersmart (web). I usually wear 10-1/2 or 11, depending on the brand.  Do Linds run large or true to size in your experience?  I ask because I don't live in the US, and returning them if the size is off is not really an option (postage issue).

And has the quality gone back up any?  It seems like they suffered a while back, but hopefully they're okayish now.

Thanks!

I have a pair of 11M Linds for a few good number of years now and they still look quite new and have held up very well for me. I found out that they do run a little 'narrow', but if your going to get the wide shoe(s), that just may be the ticket. They are a pretty comfortable shoe even being too narrow for me, but of course only wearing for the brief time on the lanes, they are quite good for me.

Thanks!  Good to know quality doesn't seem to be an issue now.

How about the length? Size 11 in tennis shoes sometimes seem a tad long, but I prefer that over having my toes rub up against the front of the shoe.

I'm getting the wide mainly because the regular isn't available on Bowlersmart. But with my concern about the toe box, the wides might be more comfortable anyway.

Classic Linds feel like wearing a 2x4 on your feet, the Heritage model is far more comfortable if you want to stay with that brand.

Thanks for the input.  I'd probably just stick with Dexters if comfort were the main thing I was after, but I'm looking more for durability, and frankly I've always wanted a pair of classic Linds.

That reminds me of another question I had.  Where are Linds made now?

KR Strikeforce owns the Linds brand these days.  They say the soles are US made, and the shoes are made with US leather.  Not sure where the shoes are actually assembled.

KR stands behind their products, so I am sure they wouldn't hesitate to make good on any quality/warranty issues.

Those classics look like they're going to be stuff and narrow. No personal experience, but I'd be going that half size up. Worse case scenario thick socks!
