Lind's Exxxtras...WOW!
« on: August 27, 2003, 06:11:53 AM »
For those out there who are/have/wish to purchase a pair of these shoes, they're very nice.  The quality of leather is not as soft as the ABS Tour's series and they're not quite as pricey.  One word of caution, DO NOT TRY THESE SHOES WITHOUT TETHERING YOURSELF TO THE BOWLING CONCOURSE!  WOW are these soles slippery.  Maybe it's the fact that the bowling center notoriously has slippery approaches early in the season after they've been freshly manicured or maybe it's a combination of the two.  It took me nearly two games to finally get a combination of cleats I felt comfortable with and then things felt great.  After likening myself moreso to a circus performer than a bowler the first two games, I settled in nicely for 269 my last game with a new Blueberry C/2.  Loks like it should be a great year!

Linds for me and some customers are by far the most slippery (easiest to slide) shoe out there. The leather also wears like iron very good construction. My only qualm was the push off foot was too slick felt like i was ice skating. Had heard they are working on a new shoe but have seen anything yet.

As with a number of hard-rubber/kevlar soled shoes in the past, I simply scuffed the push-off shoe with a wire brush against the grain.  The kevlar sole didn't need a lot of work, however.  I can only imagine how the most slippery of cleats will do at nationals next year.  I may implement one of the extra rubber cleats from the heels to slow me down.  I've had three other pairs of Lind's in the past and the leather on these shoes feels remarkably durable.  It's easy to say that after three games.  The real test will come several months from now.

The Linds slide soles are extremely durable, and yes, they also offer the best all around slide ability on the market today.  If you are looking for a pair of shoes that will allow you to slide, then Linds is definitely your choice.  I see so many people sticking with Dexters daily that it is unbelievable....all I tell them is to ditch the Dexters and buy a pair of Linds and their slide problems will be cured.

I have one pair of Linds Customs (that you can't buy any more) that has the Linds Fast sole on them.  I find myself using primarily the Fast sole these days, since a good slide is necessary now.  There is a set of the Fast cleats included in with the Linds Exxxtra shoes....the fast cleat is the one with the yellow Velcro.

Cool,

I have the EXXXXTRA WIDES too, mine are the red/whites.

All my shoes(aka foot arsenal) are Linds.

I even bought 2 other back up pairs of Linds.

Bright Royal Blue(for my emergency left hand).

Hunter Green/Black(for the every other day right hand)

I will NOT debate or force anyone ta try the Linds, its
up ta them.Soo whoever reads this pick whatever shoe ya like.

At least for me,THESE shoes last a looooooooooooong time.

BTW,my original Linds(Lt Royal Blue) finally died after
14 and a half years(give or take a day).Time of shoes'
death,10:20ish PM Monday September 8th.Reason for shoes
ending the right sole tore from the front tip down 5" inches towards the middle.
Also the left heel area of shoe was starting to separte as well.

At least I got my 100 bucks worth for 14 plus years! That was a discounted pro shop price.Linds were kinda expensive then too.

They've been there when I bowled through good times
and bad times(aka score related, lol),I'm cool with that.
I did bowl a ton of games with these exact shoes, now its time
to BREAK the new Linds in and move on!!Lets bowl!!!

Whew!Thank goodness,I bought that back up pair 2 months ago on eBay!!

Moral to post;I like my Linds Exxtra Wides.

I'm done.

PsychoBT, I know what you mean about the Linds.  I have a total of 4 pairs of them myself, although I primarily use just one particular set.  3 of the pairs are the Customs (each slide sole set up differently), and the 4th pair is the Exxxtras.  The pair that I use the most is one particular pair of the Customs which has the "fast sole" on the slide shoe.  Of course, I prefer a longer than average slide too, so the fast sole comes in handy for me.
