Title: New shoe break in
Post by: Anaconda on December 05, 2014, 07:00:36 PM
What's the best way to break in a new pair of shoes? I'm not having any problem with the soles, it's the heels. I know i'm not supposed to do this but i put a little dab of easy slide on and i'm good for several frames and then it's back to sticking again. Thanks

Taking a piece of sandpaper and slightly rounding the leading edge of the heel can help sometimes.

I used to constantly rub my shoe on the floor to smooth it out and condition it.

Which shoes and which heels?

That can make a big difference as to the potential problem and its solution.

3G sport ultra with the flat normal.

3G sport ultra with the flat normal.

The Flat normal is rubber. Putting Easy Slide on rubber is counter productive. It won't get into the rubber and provide lasting change; you will have to do it every frame.

Switch to the red or burnt orange (depending on your eyes) leather one for less traction. It may also be called Back Skin heel.

Be careful until you know how much more slippery it is!!!!
You can always use a wire brush to add texture and traction (less slippery). Brush it front to rear for 1st stage, if it's too slippery. If it's still too slippery brush it sideways for slightly more traction (less slippery).
