Title: New Shoe Suggestions
Post by: fins4ever88 on February 25, 2007, 11:55:51 AM
Just wanted to see everyone's opinions on shoes. I currently use a pair of Blue Flame Etonics that work just fine for what I've been bowling on. I bowled at Boardwalk Bowl, Orange Bowl, a Bowl America in Orlando, and a lot of bowling alleys around my area. I've only had problems with my shoes last week at a bowling alley on a naval base. There, I slid too much, which affected the way I threw. But that's the only time I've ever had a problem so far.

Is it really significantly advantageous for me to buy adjustable shoes?

And if I do go for the premium shoes, which brand and model do you all prefer? Ever since I got back into bowling a year and a half ago, I've used a pair of Etonic shoes. First had a pair I bought from Sports Authority, then I bought the Blue Flames when they had a 50% off deal. The models I've been looking at right now are the Dyno-Rooz Tour Ultras and the Dexter SST7s.

Adjustable heels and soles can be a lifesaver if you slide.  Not everyone does, but if you do, all it takes is one goofy night in league or in a tournament in another house to make you appreciate spending the money for 'em (whether you make money or not, even).

I've got a pair of Tour Ultras, the black/silver ones.  They're very comfy, good looking, and come with a pretty good set of accessories.  PM tekneek, he'll set you up.

If I were you I would buy the sst6s not the 7s, I had nothing but problems with the sst7s.  If you like the look of the6s brunswick also has a shoe called the classic, these are about 10 dollars less, and they are the same shoe.
