Dyno's stability?
« on: July 16, 2007, 11:14:15 AM »
What i like most about dexters is that theyre fairly wide, & completely flat.  The main concern i have with the dynos is the insert in the middle that might make them be more rounded or something.

I have a really bad left ankle, so bad that i wear a metal ankle brace when i bowl now.  Basically, if my ankle turns again, im out of bowling for a long time, cause i will need reconstructive surgery.

Does anyone feel that the dyno's are as stable as the dexters?

I feel better in Dynorooz because they distribute my weight better. (narrow foot) I have worn Dexters for years, but the Rooz made me a believer.

Sport Ultras are on the main page of www.900Global.com website. Love em!

Do you mean the insert in the middle of the heel?

It does not stick out below the bottom of the heel, the heel itself is flat, not rounded.

i mean the insert that allows u to change the slide sole.  Instead of being the entire sole, like most interchangable soles, its only the middle portion, not the whole sole.

That is the part that worries me, i know the heels are flat, the center portion of the heel is just for making changing the heel easier, gives a spot for the heel to go every time.

Yes, it's flat.  The soles fit inside the cutout area.  The ones that came with my Tour Ultras fit almost exactly.  Replacements are made from a sheet of material that you must cut to fit (I believe).  In that case, you'd have to make sure you trim any excess.

Looking at the bottom of my shoes with various soles in place, I cannot see that there's enough roundedness to notice or feel.

Edit: If your ankle is that bad, it might be worth having custom shoes made from high-top sneakers.  The high-tops will support your ankle better than a low-top shoe.  Or go see an orthopedist about getting some physical therapy to help alleviate your ankle problems before requiring surgery.  My wife had a problem with her foot and had to wear a huge brace all the time for a month, but it was better than being off her feet and out of work for even longer due to surgery.
