Title: New Skin
Post by: bowler493 on August 29, 2003, 01:08:23 AM
Hey, Just wondering if anyone else that uses new skin has had the same problem as me, which is that sometimes the patches are stiff and they dont stick to your skin. Just wondering if anyone knows why this is and what brands are good. thanks

I dont use new skin anymore.  I use HypaFix, a medical tape.  Some people have said that it doesnt last as long as new skin, but I havent had any problems with it.  If you want to try a sample, message me with your mailing address and I will send you some to try.  Note:  I do not sell this or have anything to do with the product.

Listening to instructions from MI-2-AZ, I have made HypaFix work for me, that plus a quick clean of the thumb with some alcohol before applying made HypaFix last 6+ games this past Wednesday night in league.

And lots of people have started using the tape from Vise Grip.

I am quite proud to say I've NEVER had to use NuSkin... but one time I had a paper cut on my thumb, and tried that tape - it works well.
The hypa fix works well too, and is a little thinner. I've only had to use that during clinics, when you throw a bunch of shots, then sit for an hour, then throw a bunch of shots - my thumb size changes a bunch.

been there; done that; bought that. Hypa-Fix is better as it is less thick. Hada, the thumb tape from Vise Grip, via Japanese medical supplies, is thick and you must open up the thumb hole or use 1-2 less piece of white, thick tape. The HaDa tape is not as clean as Hypa-Fix, in addition.

Like great bodies in bikinis for SPorts Illustrated, you are JUST LUCKY that God allowed this favor to you. It is nothing to be proud of, as you had nothing to do with it. God did and don't forget it.

I tried the sample that M1 2 AZ sent to me and liked it. Want to try some more. Where can this Hypa-Fix tape be purchased?

Charltest -
Maybe God had something to do with the shape of my thumb or something, but I can assure you - I'd rather have had the bikini body.
I can also say absolutely truthfully -
GOD DOESN'T DRILL MY EQUIPMENT!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had the problems stated in the post. It seems that that stiffness, cracking, peeling off, and etc. seemed to happen when I put to much on. Also, I have only used it on the top of my thumb joint where it is constantly abraded. Switched to a tightly wrapped Band-Aid with generous amounts of baby powder. Odd but it works for me.

Brickguy221,

HypaFix may be available in your local medical supply store, call and ask.  If you want to order by mail, Byram Healthcare of Denver, has it for sale, 1-800-354-4054.   Or you can call the manufacturer to find a local distributer in your area,  1-800-876-1261.
