Title: Release of the Brunswick TPU-X...
Post by: Artimust on July 17, 2014, 04:52:26 PM
...should be tomorrow.   I'm in the market for new shoes and i'm looking really hard at these.  My 3G Tour Ultras have a crack on the non-slide sole and that side can't be replaced, and I recently replaced the toe-cap, which is holding up well since I JB Welded it on, Lol.  But looking for the next big thing in shoes.  I'm getting both my kids Dexter's, but I want something "different".

Anyone getting these?

I want to see them in person first, but they are on my radar. I don't care for the SST8's or the 3g shoes either.

Wish dexter made available some of the versions of their shoes released overseas. Better styles and colors.

Not sure they wouldn't make more colors available in their high end shoes.

I am ordering the TPU-X to replace my current Brunswick pro shoes.

But with Brunswick getting out of the bowling business, these shoes AND SUPPORT FOR THEM may not be around for very long. I'd take that into consideration before purchasing a pair.

The shoes are through KR just like the bags. The support will be there, but their licensing agreement is just something else that is a wait and see.

I haven't needed much support for shoes, so not really an issue for me.

I kind of just skimmed over the article, but is Brunswick getting out of the entire bowling business or more so the bowling center business?  I can't fathom them getting out of the bowling ball and accessory business as well.

They are getting out of all bowling. Centers go to amf and the product side will sell as a separate deal to buyer yet determined.

Just read it.  Hopefully when all is done, the new owners will continue and even improve it if at all possible.  One can only hope.

KR Industries has 2 years left on their licensing contract/agreement with Brunswick.

I got mine in yesterday.  Much better looking in person and very comfortable walking around the house. They appear to be very well made.  I really like the polyurethane sole as it seems rigid for support but comfortable.  Like some of the golf shoes I wear.  Once I try them out a few time I'll post a review.
