Title: Replacing Finger Inserts
Post by: Stjosephkid on July 08, 2005, 12:25:18 PM
Ok so I'm starting to replace my own finger inserts in my bowling balls. What kind of glue should I use? Also does anyone know where I can buy around 20 inserts cheap?

The glue, you'll get as many different answers as there are glues. I use Master, others use Super glue, it's an individual choice thing.
Inserts...there's usually several on ebay selling them, depending on the size, color and brand.

I use Master's Super Bond, but that's just me. I'm sure any of the online stores carry all sorts of glues.

I use your basic krazy glue and while a pro shop in the area was having fits with the ice inserts from Turbo I wasn't having any problems.  HB, I haven't noticed any trouble with regular super glue at all...

The most economical and effective glue we have found is the super glue you can buy at your local hobby shop.  Most of these private label glues are manufactured by Bob Smith Industries in CA.  The quick set type seems to work the best on the Turbo ice grips.

I use Super Glue Gel. All it takes is the tinest drop you can put on about a third of the way down the insert and then when you press insert against wall of ball, no glue comes oozing out the top like liquid glues do.

I use super glue.

What size inserts?  I know Beans had some a while back for pretty cheap - I think $0.25 each.  I bought a bunch, but I'm having a hard time getting used to them.  I'm "rev-challenged" and really need the powerlift inserts - the ones I bought are not powerlift.
