SST6 LX vs. SST8

If anyone has owned both, how do they compare?  The 6 LX's are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn, but I'm interested in the 8's.  I just don't want to order them and be dissapointed like I was with the 7 SE's, which were absolutley terrible.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have not worn them...but they sure look great to me!

Is the trail leg rubber toe piece replaceable like the old Dynorooz?
