Flex seal = rubber soul rejuvenation?

So, my SST 6s are 8 years old, and even though they look great, the Goodyear soul on my right foot is as bald and slippery as my head. My thought was "What if I buy some flex seal, and apply that to the soul?" "Is it non marking?" "Would that actually work???"

So, ballreviews baltallion, what say you? Or am I going to be the one to test this?

No idea what "Flex Seal" is?

If the rubber is thick enough, just take a small triangle file and file some new grooves in it. That's what I did with the rubber sole on a pair of slippers I had that had gotten worn slick and slippery. You don't need to go deep, just do 15 - 20 in the ball of your foot area and on the edges.

Also I used something called Shoe Goop (not "Shoe Goo") years ago to replace piece of a rubber sole that came off, kind of like you do with Wood Putty,

That seems to be the problem with your worn soles. As I said above, I just cut new grooves in mine with a file.

I hit mine with nail polish remover, but I'll try what you said. Nothing to lose. At some point, I am going to get a pair of the lz's. I'm just delaying the inevitable.
