I just happened to notice this on a shoe in a Korean bowling video.
I can't tell if it's a accessory or made on the shoe itself, looks like it could help.

Dexter makes them as well
Yeah that's the dexter powerstep most think it's okay, but it's bulky and heavy on the foot.
The thing on the korean shoe is just on the tip though it's just made on that shoe though.
As they say "rubber toe cup allows a complete kick-step capability."

The Korean shoes looked pretty similar to the Dexter Exxtra's.
They had changeable soles with the little round changeable disks to fine tune the slide and changeable heels.

The shoes kind of look like the 3g's by 900 Global

Lind's made the Exxxtras with the interchangeable disc system (VHS), I believe.

Yep your right it was Linds.
Linds was behind in the interchangeable shoes race. They tried to catch up with the shoe with the interchangeable strip sole first, which didn't go anywhere then that disk system.

Oh yeah I remember the dynothane 3g tour ultra had that rubber piece as well
