Torn Fingers
« on: January 19, 2007, 02:52:56 AM »
I sliced the seam of my ring finger, and at this rate, it's not going to heal until August.  Anyone have a home remedy, or something that they do to prevent and/or cure this "injury"?

Neosporin and a bandaid over it whenever you're not bowling.
Bandaid over it and enlarge finger hole when you are bowling. I had to do that for about 2 weeks until my finger healed. I use finger inserts; with the bandaid I had to go up one size for those two weeks.

Superglue. Don't let it get down into the cut...just the edges.
First thing I would do is soak it in Hydrogen Peroxide, to make sure there is no infection. Use the Super Glue before bowling.

This works great.  Doctors and hospitals are using Super Glue instead of stichtes for a lot of cuts.  They use a medical brand super glue that has the same exact ingredients as the normal super glue we can buy at the hardware store.

Do just like Rich said, clean the cut really good then apply the super glue.

Put Neosporin and a band-aid on it off and on over and over again. Then when you go bowling, put some New Skin on it, it burns so bad that you would rather cut your finger off, but it works great.

I use to fight full contact and anytime I had a huge cut, after the fight we used superglue. Clean it out first though. I have also used it on cuts on my bowling hand or my knuckles that would get sliced.
