dynorooz sport elite cabretta
« on: November 26, 2006, 01:23:35 PM »
does anyone have a pair of these and if so how do you like them ?

after using nothing but dexters' over the past 11 years and using the 4's, 5's, 6's, and finally 6 lx's, i've ordered a pair of the dynorooz sport elite cabretta's. they look very classy and stylish. they seem to be lighter in weight yet still solidly built.

the reason i'm getting away from my dexters has nothing to do with the shoes themselves----to this day they are solidly built and work great. the problem is the center where i bowl most of the time utterly refuses to clean the approaches. they dust them everyday---no problem there but they don't clean them. there is black grime and gunk on the approaches on almost every pair. open play bowlers simply do not show any level of care or concern as to where they step or what they step in and their shoes bring it from the setee area to the approach. worse still, i've complained to the management and nothing gets done. i've even showed them the cleaning products available from brunswick for cleaning the approaches. so to protect my lower back and my knees.....and to try and recapture the level of slide i used to get a change was made.

these shoes come with 4 soles and 4 heels and i also bought the adjust-a-heel to fine tune the slide even more. i'll report back from time to time on how these shoes are doing

Gregg,

Why would you think these shoes would slide more or less than the available options from Dexter?  If it is more slide you want...I can't imagine an option slipplier than a felt sole(10) and a number 7 heel on the dexters.  I can't even push off that setup for walking!

(an adjustable heel I"ve heard is great...especially with very slippery fabric used).

Just curious.

I just got the Elites myself a few months ago after having been very disappointed in Dexter SST 7's.  They are comfortable and well put together shoes.

luckylefty, here's the problem. my usual set-up with the dexters is the #8 sole and the #5 smooth rubber heel. this used to work great. when i change to the #7 red leather heel it's too much slide. the worst problem is that the slide is inconsistent from shot to shot. and you're right, the #10 felt sole is way too much slide. i'm hoping the materials that the dynorooz uses on the soles and heels are enough to make the difference. i'm really looking for the adjust-a-heel to make a difference as well.

I found the Triheel on my Dexters is a nice step inbetween the too slippery red heel and the too sticky number 5!

Really lovin it!

In dynorooz...I like the dimpled heel a lot(use on my dexters a lot).
No longer available many places.  I own 3 or 4!

i tried my new shoes today for the first time. when i took them out of the box the first thing i noticed was how soft the leather was. the quality of the leather seems very high. the shoes are also very light in weight yet they seem very sturdy in build quality. the uppers are glued and stitched to the soles...a trademark of higher quality shoes. the fit was right on( size 10 1/2 just like my other shoes ).

i tried several dozen practice slides using various combinations of soles and heels. the best set-up was the deer skin( cream colored ) sole and the flat hard rubber heel. i first tried sliding without the ball and then moved on to sliding with the ball and throwing some shots. all in all it worked out pretty good for the 6 games i bowled. the shoes were somewhat stiff but that's to be expected. they loosened up a little and i'm sure they'll loosen up some more.

i wore the dynorooz sport elite cabretta's some more yesterday. i bowled 6 games in them and they are really becoming comfortable and have loosened up a little. i can't get over how light in weight they are yet they seem very sturdy. the slide shoe set-up of the deerskin leather sole and the flat hard rubber heel is just about perfect. the materials these are made of must be different enough to allow me to slide better than when i'm in my sst 6 lx's.
