Post by: mj79 on April 04, 2010, 12:35:18 PM
I hear , different house slide different,  but I have not ever noticed this.. So when I get my new shoes tomorrow ( etonic ess stabilites ) that come with a ps4 ps6 and ps8 soles , what do they mean? Does the lower # slide less or whats the deal?>

There should be a chart in the box your shoes came in that displays what sole/heel offers what amount of slide.

For those that bowl at different houses, like in a travel league, the approaches are different.  Some wood, some synthetic.  Some are slippery, some are tacky.

In the summer time, I have to change my slide sole because the humidity causes the approaches to be a little more tacky than normal.

You will get the same slide no mater what alley you bowl in. Lower number equals less slide.

So you slide the same on wood as you do synthetic?

You slide the same when it's humid as you do when it's cool and dry?

Really?

I think what azus is trying to say is that the different soles allow you to get as close to the same slide anywhere you bowl, not that no matter where you bowl, you slide the same even if you don't change your soles.

have you bowled @ different houses? I don't mean within the same city. When you travel, some houses stick and some slide too much because of powder...and that's where the shoe pad comes to save you. gives you a slide reaction you're comfortable with

I usually buy new shoes quite often because I change soles so often the velcro wares out before the shoe does. I can't imagine bowling without interchangable sole shoes. I do bowl alot of traveling leagues, and bowl in quite a few different houses.
