ATTN: BRBT will be closing.
« on: November 28, 2004, 08:52:41 AM »
Yeah, the ball reviews brand tournament will be closing.  It is not even worth it at this point.  We had around 70 people sign up, and we haven't even had half post their scores for any week.  This week it barely made 1 page (25) and that was with some multiple user posts.   I suspect in a few weeks I would only have one rep. from each company posting.

So, in conclusion, i will be indefinitely suspending the BRBT.  I can't spend so much time for this is nobody is even bothering.  I had a couple dozen people sign up and never respond.  So, it's closed.  I'm not going to make a Week 4 post, obviously.

Sorry for those that wanted to see this continue,

Andy.

This does suck. I was hoping we could continue till the end. Oh well, I guess they had other interests besides this. I guess I have to wait till the next tourney rolls around.

Yeah actually i just counted adn I got around 23 people posting scores this week.  That is around a third of those who signed up.

It makes it really difficult to figure out a system of scoring when you have someone post 1 score then disappear, you have to change things.  Once again, not worth even 1 minute of work.

Welcome to my world.

It is annoying to spend time to do something, then not have it work.  It really stinks because people had time to sign up, then suddenly not have time a week ot two later.

I was listed as a sub but never told which brand to use, so I never posted my scores since on a normal night I might use multiple companies.  I did PM the BRBT Director but by that time he was out of the picture so he never saw my questions.

MI2AZ, it didn't matter since there were too many people who never posted.  I would have needed at least 20 or 30 subs.  Around 40-50 this week.

I'm with Strider. We've made so many replacements on the scratch doubles, it doesn't even look much like the same league!

Yeah, people love spur of the moment.  When the original idea came up, there was lots of enthusiasm and excitement.  BK and i took up the task, he died, i took over, and people lost that spur of the moment feel and the thing fell through.

I dont want to make excuses for others, but this week with the Thanksgiving holiday, many leagues did not bowl.  At my center, there were no leagues on Tues, Wed, Thur or Fri, so I did not bowl.  This may have affected the turnout although they should have posted that they were not bowling this week.

Yeah MI i knew that would happen, but I was saying, even in week 1, JUST after there was so much excitement an enthusiam, i think we had 1 third of the people who signed up not post.  That was the peek.  Next week (week 2, before any holidays) it dropped about 5.  NOt much, but like i said it makes it really hard to adjust, since now i have to wonder if someone isn't ever going to post and how to work around that with scoring, etc.

If i did have to crown a champion I would give it to Morich since they all posted every week and they did good too.

Hi all,

Our league took off for two weeks. This week (tonight), I bowled a 597. At first I was disappointed that I didn't break 600, but then I realized I hadn't broken 500(!) in a while. Next week we bowl again, then a four week break.

Oh well, I was on Team Columbia. I just thought I'd post in case you changed your mind. 8^)

Hey guys,

This was just a thought that I had... Week 1 participation WAS very low. I am thinking it was possibly a result of week one getting postponed three weeks. That does wear on people. Just a thought.

Well, thanks for running the tourney while it lasted Andy. It was fun. 8^)
