Since I dropped my 3-ball bag on my little toe before my morning league, I couldn't get my bowling shoe back on to go to my evening league.  Therefore, I'll be using my morning scores for this week, shot with a possibly broken toe.

135-144-191 = 470

Ouch!  To add insult to injury, not even a sympathetic DPL.

Debbie, I hope the toe is okay.  Thanks for keeping the scoring down, but I didn't even hit that high

128-183-148=459 On a positive note, it was better than last week, unless you count in the last game 91  Maybe next week I'll break 100 every game.
Lately I must ask:
How do I sucketh?
Let me count the ways
I sucketh in striking
I sucketh in spare conversion
I sucketh on the sport condition

No DPLs again.  No lurkers around the center

TP,

I think if I were on a sport shot, I'd have trouble averaging 140.  I'm what you'd call a "spray bottle!"

The toe is still killing me, but I'm going to bowl tomorrow, come hell or high water, because my teammate is probably having her tonsils out this week (we're a trio, so I don't want to leave my other teammate all alone).

I still believe you'll come out of this experience a better bowler in the long run.  Keep your chin up!

TP - Are you still using that football to pick up your spares?  If so you ought to go to something a little harder on the durometer scale. Like a white dot or even a blue dot.  Drill it with as much finger weight as possible and learn to come up the back of the ball more to shoot them spares.

I have soccer ball that is basically the same cover and I can make the thing hook because the cover is too soft.

Doc, thanks for the advice.

My biggest problem is the over/under and splits.  Most of my corner pins, I'm picking up.  My 1st ball is the problem.  I can't seem to find the right angle/ball speed/ball to get away from the splits.

I may look for something like a white dot for my strike ball.  I was talking with the league secretary who suggested getting away from the resins and going with urethane or plastic to take the lane out of the equation.  I did use the Blue Hammer for the 3rd game and was successful, then just lost it.   I found out the 10th frame I should have moved out to about 6-7 board.  1st ball in the 10th was over 5 and a 7 pin.  Spare converted.  Last ball I went to 6-7 and strike.

Debbie, It is definitely a challenge and if things keep on the way they are, I will be in the 140s.  I'm now down to a 154  On a high note, my THS averages are on the rise  Tues. 178, Wed. 165, Thurs 190.  So maybe the sport shot is helping.  It sure makes me appreciate the THS

TP - you may want to go to a low flaring ball that is considered fairly weak.  Also an up the back release would help.  Play a tighter line and don't cover so many boards.

Doc, I sent a message for clarification/advice.  I got to get my act together before my team kicks me to the curb.  One still thinks I am a capable of being a 200 ave bowler on a normal condition.  I don't want him to find out the truth until later in the season

145-167-278=590, i have no idea where that third game came from, i had 1 cpl from a very hot lady, don't know what it was but it knocked me off me feet for the first two games and i was seeing double, then everything cleared up and i thought i was going to finish last but shot that

no bottom of the barrel for me this week

253, 147, 160 (560)  variance: 106!

first game:down and in staight up the back of the v2 part.
second game: moved in a little w/ a little bit of side roll= suck a~~
third:up the back but some through the face for splits

missed 100 pins over the first game by one pin(avg is so low due to a month of bad bowling lately and trying to change bowling styles(ie stroking it now vs. trying to RIP the ball previously))

cpl...none of them were even near us...1 underage(17 or maybe 18 yr old unlikely though) daughter being my personal server for the night(sodas only, no drinks sorry)

183 - 118 - 201 = 502

Lost the manly-man image and went back to the wrist brace.
0 CPL - My brother-in-law used my Skull ball and the return ate up the grips, so it was out of commission.

This week we were on the end pair and the pair next to us was broken so we were cast off by ourselves.  It appeared that it would be impossible to score a CPL.  But as it began to looked doomed, the chick last week that rubbed Elixir all over her ball came on over.  She gave me big hug and planted one on me.  She said she bowled the best series in her life in her other league and she owes it to the Elixir.  She bought me a drink and bought a bottle of the Elixir.
Me only thinks what would happen if she shoots a 300.

As to scores this week a 230-190-202=622  Proves that you can score a CPL and bowl well.

To top it off I was in the mystery doubles pot and my partner, another chick in league happened to bowl well enough to win the first game. No CPL but got money back.

188-189-159 = 536

0 CPL'S but......

Things were looking up. My ball was revving like a Tamanian Devil binging on crack, and I was looking smooth in my throwback number 13 jersey style shirt. Then reality hit like one of my patented pin punishing pitches....Where were the dames ? I was buzzin' around like a bee in the spring, and not a single flower around to pollenate. I panicked. My palms began to sweat, and I started flashing back to Prom night 1989.

I had to do something quick. I went to the bar. There was an older lady there 50-ish looking and wearing a visor. I said "Deal me in buttercup", she didn't respond right away. She studied me hard, real hard. At first I thought that she just didn't get the joke, but now it was apparent that she was undressing me with her eyes. I said "I'll have a Doc's Magic Elixir". I figured if Doc could eak out a couple of measly CPL's with the stuff, I should be able to draw them in from a 50 mile radius. It wasn't to be though, as the bartender didn't seem to know what I was talking about. I settled for a beer, and headed back to my table. The bartender eyeballed me as I walked away. There was no doubt that she wanted to set me up with her hottest daughter, I could see it in her eyes.

My bowling took a nosedive in the third game, kinda like Anna Nicole's dead hubby when the Viagra wore off. There was nothing I could do, I was resigned to my fate. Another night on the lanes, another victim of circumstance.

Okay, you can put me down for 3 CPL's for now, The bartender, her daughter, and Anna Nicole Smith.......When I look up the census information on CPL's within a 50 mile radius, you can add them in later.

I suggest negative side weight also. Straighter is better.
