Title: What is a ball review tournament anyway
Post by: chucksta29 on July 23, 2004, 10:37:14 AM: i just saw this forum and was wondering what it was

alright picture this im 6-1 160 tall and lengthy with really long arms, im a righty, my right foot is on the last dot to the left, i hit some where near the middle arrow ( i don't pay much attention) i throw the ball 20-25mph and can get ten track rings on my ball, will anything u have make it back to the pocket

Post by: TheBowlingKid25 on July 24, 2004, 01:39:45 AM: A Ball Review tournament is when you enter in to a certain divison, and basically just post your scores from league. If you dont have a league you go and bowl 3 games, and post the results. Its basically a bracket tournament, online.

Post by: a_ak57 on July 24, 2004, 01:51:46 AM: It's the first three if you bowl more than 3 games, but if you bowl more than one series during the week, you can take the highest one. Hope that helps.

Last fall, they had a Scratch Doubles run like a league. There was a doubles that was weekly with hdcp and scratch winners. They also had a scratch eliminator tourney.

Two years ago, there was also a trios league format.

Then there is the BOTBC - Bottom of the Barrel Challenge, unfortunately I have been evicted from that one You have to have a book average of 185 or below to participate.

You chose one of your leagues and use those scores each week to report. Sorry to say, if you bowl multiple leagues you were not supposed to report your highest, but keep the league used consistent. If you were not bowling in the selected league a week, it was usually allowed to substitute scores from another league.

If anyone decides to run them again, the rules and sign-ups will be coming out soon.

Instead of what we did last time.......this time, since it will be so much earlier, let's have a kind of "season", like the NFL, where you have weekly matchups with someone else, then you form a record, and then the people with the best records have a playoff in the end to decide the "Superbowl-er" champion!!!

Post by: Strider on July 24, 2004, 09:33:09 PM: I run the Bowling Forum Doubles Tournament (BFDT). I usually do it during the summer as well, but knew I wouldn't have the time until the middle of summer. Look for a sign up post with all the rules a few weeks before winter leagues start.
