adjustments
« on: November 08, 2004, 02:42:55 PM »
At my local house the lanes dry up something bad.  I have tried most of the adjustments that I can think of.  I have tried moving farther to the left (right handed bowler 3rd arrow).  tried changing my shot to go to the extent of shooting the deep middle arrow line.  still seems to either go crossover or dead head.

any feedback would be much appreciated.

my current ball arsenal

Hammer-Wheel
Brunswick-Intense Inferno
Brunswick-Xtreme
Columbia-White dot

jmccann,

Are you using your Xtreme on the dry lanes?  If that ball hooks alot, just polish it up to 2000 grit.  When the lanes are fried, all I do is throw either my Tornado sparkle or White dot.  Unfortunately, by the time my Tornado gets down the lane, all of it's energy is gone and hits like a wet banana.

Also, try not to give it alot of lift but rather let it roll off of your hand.  That should kill most of the hook on dry wood.  I also have another dry ball from Ebonite.  It's a Matrix Conquest.  It was made for dry-light oil conditions.  This ball rolls out too soon even with 1200 grit and polish.

One time I took the polish off and sanded with a Scotch brite pad w/ water.  Rolled it down the lane from left gutter to right gutter and back left again without touching the pins.  Man that's dry...

Cheers

Robert

Thanks for the info the Links were very good going to try some of those things next time I practice.  Yeah Robert I did get it polished up what grit I couldnt say it works great when they first begin to dry up.  even that was over hooking.  Decided to practice my old down and in over the 2nd arrow.

again thanks for everyones information
