Title: Back to bowling
Post by: Surrounderr on February 08, 2010, 01:20:59 PM
I used to bowl in three leagues when I was 14 with an average of 160-170ish. I quit playing and now I am deciding to bowl again.I wondering what good starter ball I should pick up? I'm sure a lot has changed in the nine years that I've been absent from the sport in the means of equipment so any help would be appreciated.  I was looking at the Storm Tropical but I would appreciate your input.

Thanks.

Any of the entry level reactive resin balls would be a good choice, the Tropical Storm is one of those.  A few others -- Ebonite Tornado, Columbia Scout, and Brunswick Power Groove.  These three will probably cost a little less than the Tropical, but The Tropical is a little stronger than the others also.  --  JohnP

Great choise for any returning bowler. Hammer has the Rayzr line as well which is in the same price range as the rest. It's really which company do you like the best. I do suggest a control drilling on which ever ball you picked up. Pin at 1PM and CG in the palm. This is a good layout for everyone.
