Brunswick Strike King
« on: February 22, 2014, 10:24:38 PM »
I have just started bowling in a league & want to get my own ball.  I figure I can't get that much better using the balls in the alley that don't fit me that well and I can't use consistently.

After looking around the web the Brunswick Strike King keeps coming up as an excellent entry level ball.  Would y'all recommend this one?  Right  now, I bowl pretty straight, but am interested in trying to throw a hook, and when we set our averages the other night, mine was 137.

What do y'all think?  What set-up should I go with?  I'll be getting either a 15 or 16 pound ball, but I have no idea about pin position or top weight...

Anything else you would recommend?  Any information would be great, thanks a lot.

I would suggest that you defer to your local pro shop operator. All of the major companies have great entry level pieces.(Ebonite Cyclone, Storm Tropical Breeze, Brunswick Strike King, etc.) What is most important is that your ball fit properly. I would then strongly encourage you to find a qualified coach in your area, and invest in some lessons. A coach will help you develop proper execution, and that will help set you on the road to be a better bowler. Best of luck!

I've seen them on a few sites on sale for pretty cheap. BowlingBall.com and a few others.
Good luck

Everyone know who has one from beginning bowler learning to hook, to 200 average plus loves the strike king!  Length with a smooth and yet definitely strong backend and great Hitting Power!

I love it.

I have to say I have not heard the same about the Cyclone and the
Tropical
Breeze is much weaker.

I had a good chance to win our city championship last week using the Strike King!
