Drilling Terminology help please!
« on: December 05, 2005, 09:50:51 AM »
I suppose I should have asked before buying my 5th bowling ball. I know that the pin is directly on top of the core, but that's it. What is the bomb symbol on my ebonite, how about the circles in the circles. How do you find the PAP without drilling the ball? What do different top weights do?

Bomb symbol---Mass bias
 Circles----Cg
Your pro shop ball driller should have your PAP measurement on file if this is the same one that drilled the other 4 balls.
Top weights---lower can mean more of a continuous movement- higher canmean more back end reaction. Again, your pro shop operator can give you more detailed answers in relation to how you bowl.

Being a military brat, I didn't have the opportunity to have them drilled at the same shop. Now that the symbols are established, what does each mean in terms of ball reaction and in relation to each other. Thanks
