Title: Need recommendation for a coach in AZ
Post by: dmcneal on August 04, 2003, 11:09:46 PM
I have just recently started bowling a few months ago and took a few lessons. The problem is that I feel the lessons were just a way to sell me a ball and shoes. I go to a lesson throw a couple shots he says work on this and leaves. So I would like recommendations for a good coach in AZ. I live in Mesa but am willing to go to tucson if you know of a REALLY good coach there.

I really need to learn all the basics so a coach that is good with beginners is what I am looking for.

Vegas is a little far in that it is about a 5 hour drive.

spweener I will have to see if I can get a hold of Rolf. I think I saw his ad in the desert bowler but I was under the impression he only tought more experience players. Thanks for the recommendation.

Anyone else have input?

How bout a recommendation for a pro-shop in AZ.

Well, if you were looking to travel to Tucson, I would highley recomend Gary Hicks.  He is the PBA Regional oil guy, and knows the ins and outs of bowling.  He is located in Lucky Strike, runs the pro shop with wife, Donna, and son Charles.  I'm having my wife get lessons from him, as well as I. But If your in Mesa, try the Simmonis brothers.  I know one of the brothers runs the pro shop at Country Club.  They also are great people.  I haven't gone to Phoenix area that much, but I heard real good things about Rolf.  He coach Andrew Cain, if I'm not mistaken.  Im sure you know who he is, but if not, wait another year or two and everyone will know about him.
