whats next

ive got a friend and hes currently using a groove sanded he has about a 150 avg and he throws lower revs and medium speed, and he does not know that much about bowling equipment , he knows some what about where to throw the ball depending on where the oil is. so i decided to help him find a new ball and im wondering what you guys think is the next step up form the groove sanded. i would tell him to go to the pro shop and have them help pick a ball out but my friend with not to much knowledge probably would say whats the most hook for the money and he would probably end up with a goliath and thats jsut plain stupid in many ways why the pro shop would sell a ball like that to someone with a 150 avg and not much knowledge in bowling i wish they would ask questions before selling a ball . brand does not matter

Thanks

Fish and Ta 152,

A better choice than the Bruiser would be the Power Groove, either reactive or Proactive.  The Power Groove series retails for about $119 whereas the Bruiser retails for around $159.  Take baby steps with this scenario.  A 150 average bowler with not alot of knowledge still needs to go with something simple if he is just looking for the next step from the Groove Sanded.  Moving up to the Power Grooves is plenty enough difference from the Sanded as to not go through what we call culture shock if all he is used to is throwing urethanes.  Once he gets used to the Power Groove, then step up to something in the mid-performance lines such as a Hex-Plosion or Monster Bruiser just to name a couple.

thanks guys for the help, i think i will recommend the power groove proactive, when i was at his stage i used a tornado tps and i liked it alot and there was more difference in hook amount then i thought there would be between the groove and the tps i should almost try to sell him it. i will make sure to tell him how to take care of it.
