Please help with new ball
« on: December 23, 2005, 01:07:40 AM »
Hi everyone,
I'm not really all that new to bowling, been bowling for about 5 years, but I have used the same ball since I started (Messenger, the old green one), and now am looking to get a new ball.  There is a lot of things I don't know about, but I thought I would tell you a bit about my bowling style and how I approach the lanes.

First off, I don't really know whether the alley I bowl at is low, medium or heavy oil, though I suspect medium.  When I bowl I stand a bit to the left of the center and throw down the second to third arrow (I'm right handed).  I bowl at about a speed of 11-12 MPH, and I'm not really sure if that information helps or not.  I'm kind of looking for a ball that has a good hook potential as my messenger used to have, but now it is a bit less reactive than it used to be.  I would welcome any suggestions and pointers!  Thank you for your time.

Based off what you say and that's close to where I stand, I'd suggest you look at the XXcel and the Hawg Wild. Doom would be another as well as OverTime.
