Skip step
« on: July 28, 2016, 07:12:00 AM »
Hello bowling family it's me again,

This skip step is killing me. I do not understand it. Do I start the skip on the 3rd step? Do I go up in the air or do I try to slide? they say on youtube that this is where the two hander gets their power and speed. Should it go like this:
1 step,2 step, 3step, the 4th and 5th step is the skip step.

If I do not do the skip step and just do the traditional steps will that be like fighting the two different styles(3finger bowler, 2hand bowler with no thumb) which would not give me the speed, power and the smooth motion like Jesper Svensson( in my opinion has a smoother delievery then belmo).

Go to YouTube and search for videos of two handed bowlers by name so you can watch how they do it.  --  JohnP

You really just have to try different things and see what works for you. Like John above me said, go watch videos. Bowling is a lot of trial and error

I am a two hander that had 20mph ball speed with no skip step back when I started.  Now being 43 years old; I am still around 18+.  Guess I am just different.  But if you can do without the skip step; then you may want to try that.
