Title: STRIKE KING FOR FRIED UP LANES
Post by: bowlersam on September 17, 2016, 03:30:33 AM
I sometimes encounter fried up lanes. All the balls I have in the bag or on shelf are hooking too much or burning up and hitting dead.

Decided to buy a High RG, Low Differential, with Low Friction Cover. After some research, decided to Buy Brunswick Strike King.

As you know from previous posts, I'm a naive newbie with Stroker Style game. Speed around 16 off hand with lesser revs like 200 to 225. Low tilt and medium to higher track with 40 to 50 degrees axis rotation. Average is around 170 plus or minus few pins.

And when I say Fried up lanes, I mean Really fried up lanes.

Any suggestions for Layout?

I'm thinking 70 x 3 x 50. Will that do?

I'd lay that ball out weaker.  Having the pin in the 3" range will want to read the midlane, and although would be nice for fresh med/light patterns, is probably too early for fried lanes.  I'd recommend your pin to be around 5" from your axis.  It may seem a little weak to you, but as a stroker on dry lanes it will help you keep your angles straighter and your ball in play.

Thanks a lot. Excellent.  Are DA and VAL OK DA 70 VAL 50?

On symmetrical equipment, the only thing that matters in relation to the first angle is if you need an extra hole or not. Lay it out to where you don't need a hole, and I'd agree with the 5 inch pin to pap, or even further, but I'd go 35 to 40 with the second angle. Then be sure to polish it with a polish with a slip agent in it. Control it used to be my go to when I needed the ball to not go nuts off the friction.
