Title: symmetric vs asymmetric
Post by: SrKegler on April 24, 2023, 07:44:06 AM
What is the reaction difference between the two balls drilled the same.  I'm currently using the Motive Tribal with good results on a 41ft house shot.

The tendency is for asyms to have a more pronounced backend reaction.  Symmetrics tend to be more smooth front to back.  This does not mean that symmetrics cant be angular.  But here is an example.  Same cover on both balls used by same bowler in the same center.  Infinite Physix is an asym and the Night Road is a sym.

There are a lot of variables, but if you are comparing the same cover, with the same surface and layout, the asymmetrical will tend to be a more angular response to friction and want to roll forward quicker than the symmetrical version. Though depending on the layout, the difference could be more pronounced between the two.. or they could look pretty similar.
