Most companies have entry-level reactive balls that are good for learning to hook.  I'd look into the Tropical Storm and the planet line from Rotogrip (Neptune, Saturn, Venus).

Laying out a ball for someone who is currently using a conventional grip (or throwing thumbless) is basically a crapshoot.  You don't know what your PAP is, nor how it will change when you start throwing a fingertip ball.  Your driller may watch you bowl first and recommend something.  Or he'll put a label drill on it, with the pin to the right of the ring finger and the CG towards the grip center.  That's a safe layout for the vast majority of bowlers.

According to Shelley's reply that's so true.  It's been over a month now that I purchased my first reactive ball Storm T-road pearl.  The pro shop that I went to recommended this ball.  He drilled it the way shelly mentioned it.  I've always been a straight ball thrower.  After a few lessons, my ball is actually starting to hook.  I was pretty happy.  I guess you can say that I'm hooked on this sport.

Couldn't agree more with shelley.  The Tropical storm line is very underrated.  I recommended it to a friend and she shot a 300 with it 3 weeks later.  The planet line from rotogrip is great too, will give you a little more action.  Can't go wrong either way!  And boy that neptune ball looks sweet =)
