I dont look down at the dots when I line up, not when its the same pattern/line i play on every day at least. I look at the foul line when i set up.

#1. I fail to see the attraction of "Google Glass".

#2. How in the heck do you NOT look at your feet when lining up?

While the original idea of "Google Glass" may have sounded good, it does not work for me, and in fact, looks disorienting to me.

And the foot thing. I've never understood that. We had a guy who said he was a "feel" bowler, and just lined up where it "felt" right. Never looked at his feet, yet had several honor scores and about the highest average around.

Strange to me anyway. Worked for him though.

Looks like a pretty giant drift to the right.  I don't think the board or two you miss by lining up by the foul line would affect where he ends up.

I bought it more as a curiosity than anything, though me and a friend plan to develop a few apps for it. Aside from that, its just a neat gadget to play with.

As far as my approach goes, i know it needs work. Its probably my biggest weakness right now but ive been trying to improve it.

I know i drift to the right, and have been meaning to work on it, i just didnt think it was that big of a deal until i actually watched the videos i took from that session. I do drift way more than i do in my head.

I really need to work on that.

The first part of getting better is admitting you have a problem :)  Now get out there and fix it! :)

I have 3 leagues there, 2 of which im just a sub.

2 subs are: 204(Thursday), 189(Friday. Drier lanes, annoy me to no end). Friday used to be 201 a few months ago. Just cant get high scores on that shot the last few months.

Wednesday is at 193.

Ok, I just wanted to gauge where we are.

As others have noted, the drift needs correction.  If I were you (and again, this is just me), I would devote some time to the approach in practice.  When you line up, look at where you are AND where you end up.  Take notes on this across 30-40 frames (after you've warmed up) and find out exactly (and be precise here) how much you drift on average.  That would diagnose that issue AND get you into the habit of KNOWING factually where you are and where you end up.  It's good you can "feel" your way to those averages but if you want to improve attention to detail is a must, especially in a game where repeating shots is the goal and accuracy can be premium in certain lane patterns.  I too tend to play a very similar line week to week on my Wednesday night THS BUT.......it is still a good opportunity to work on precision.

Pay attention to the details in a detail-oriented approach if you want to take that next step up in average.  Along with working on these things you'll also find yourself avoiding the frames that are holding you back.  That extra strike or 9/ (rather than a 6-2 open) goes a LONG way for your average over the course of a season.

Like I said, diagnose that drift (precisely), get some camera shots from behind and on the side of you and then let's cross that next bridge.

If we're trying to identify our goal, let's figure out the exact "issue"...

No prob.....I think, long-term, doing this you'll see that average start to climb and your ability to locate and repeat shots will increase.

The biggest problem i have now is my accuracy, i feel like the approach is a big part of that. Theres a lot of times i just cant get the ball where i want it to go.

Thought id post a few more shots.
Had two days where I had to practice on burned up lanes.
Ended up lofting the gutter cap the last few games. That was interesting.

Dont know what happened to the quality of that one. Must have picked the wrong settings when I rendered it out. Oh well.
