Did Jason break any rules? Doesn't seem so.

Got in Brads head though, huh?

But REALLY? In a room filled with people, your going to let the completely ordinary sound of a water bottle being drunk out of and set back down bother you that much?

If its that easy, I'd have gotten a drink EVERY time Brad was up.

 C'MON BRAD.

If a pro is that sensitive to noise he would probably absolutely STROKE OUT on a typical league night...

how did he even make the show hell when they are qualifying they are surrounded by noise and bowlers a lane or two over also seeing others bad shots down lane and who knows what other sounds.

Its a whole different game when under the lights and everything is quiet, you get used to the silence and expect silence.  I can see Brad's point but I don't believe it really effected him directly.

It appeared to me that Belmonte was intentionally picking up his water bottle and crinkling it as Brad was either taking his first step or setting up.  If that was indeed what was happening, then I have lost all respect for Belmonte.  But then again I didn't care much for him anyway.

I guess if it gets into your opponents head, they will try anything.

This past summer was playing in a golf match play tourny, about the

first 6 holes, my opponent would put his hand into his pocket and start rattling his loose change

as i putted, about hole 7 i asked him for his loose change and gave him a dollar bill for it, he was offended

by it saying i guess that you have bionic ears, he knew what he doing from the start, poor sportsmanship.

When you lose you concentration for a second, you could make a bad shot.  If this was happening alot, then Brad was starting to get angry and probably lost his concentration for more than a second.  Yea, I can see how that could bother him.

If done on purpose, then very bad sportmanship. This is at the professional level and not some pot game.

If on purpose:  unsportsmanlike and Belmo is a dick.

Otherwise, Angelo is hypersensitive.

That's pretty much all it can be.

The best way to get even is to not let it bother you.

If Jason was doing it on purpose, or even if Brad thought he was, the best thing to do is cram about 5-6 in a row, then tell him "I love it when you do that", not have a petulant little hissy. You start striking, then let the opponent know that he has motivated you to do so, and I GUARANTEE that the behavior will cease.

I tend to root for Brad, and I'm not really a fan of Jason's, but quit blaming your inability to throw good shots on somebody else. Brad was just struggling to throw it good. That made him frustrated, and he took it out on any little thing that bothered him even slightly.

At the professional level, don't you have to be better than that?

Not a Brad Angelo fan, but I have two points.

When you watch Brad on the approach and step off and ect you can tell he is very uncomfortable and doesn't look like he wants to make the shot.(scared)

The other is in watching Jasons mannerisms from start to finish with the bottle and the way he keeps messing with it. Picking it up, and setting it down ect along with eye balling Brad on the approach.

I would say if you based it just off watching Jason it was intentional. I also think Brad was going to miss regardless. He didn't looked prepared.

Jason finger f$@ked the water bottle several times before the shot with out making a sound, and then during the approach gives it a nice death grip squeeze? Bush league.

Also don't ever compare what you do during pot games or anything else to what these guys are doing for a living on national television, it sounds that stupid. Think softball guy at a local tournament comparing himself to an MLB player during the World Series. Don't be that guy.

Be good, or be good at it.

It looked to me like he did it on purpose as a subtle way of getting into Angelo's head. Those bottles can creak pretty loud at times, and it's especially magnified when the rest of the arena is pretty quiet.

I've always thought they should have some "white noise" or something in the arena. Sure, it might make the audio seem a little cluttered, but how many times now have we seen where a noise in the arena creates a distraction for the bowler?

if you watch the xtra frame interview they have with belmo, He says what happens and I believe him. If you watch the first time he is drinking with angelo on the approach(god forbid!) angelo steps off and regroups, then belmo goes to get a drink again(god forbid) but holds the cap and waits until angelo starts his approach to get a drink, never touches the base of the bottle jus has the cap in his hand. So in conclusion, I dont think  belmo did it intentionally. When I get nervous bowling sometimes I drink constantly picking up the glass I have...angelo through the ball like garbage all day anyways and still had a chance to win at the end if he could execute, so to blame belmo for that shot is inevitable

Even the Brunswick ball rep they had on the pregame show with Xtra Frame said Angelo had no clue because between the Loaded Revolver (which he used on the show) and the Wicked Siege, none of those were reacting well at all.  Angelo needs to stop being really sensitive and start making better shots on tv, consistantly.

I'm not saying if Angelo should be complaining or not but this is what I saw.

Angelo is up and Belmonte is messing with the bottle to get a drink.  Angelo hears a crinkle from the bottle and steps down and looks at Belmonte.

Belmonte puts the bottle down.  Angelo steps up and Belmonte picks up the bottle again, this time by the cap with his left hand.  While Angelo is on the approach you can see Belmonte grab the lower part of the bottle with his right hand.  As Angelo starts his approach you can see Belmonte squeeze the bottle and you can hear the sound it makes.

I don't know if Belmonte squeezed the bottle on purpose to make a sound or if he was just squeezing the bottle to get a grip on it to unscrew the cap.

But unless he had no clue why Angelo stepped down the first time and looked at him , then Belmonte shouldn't have picked up the bottle and made noise with the bottle again while Angelo was bowling.

Belmonte's excuse about only holding the top and the bottle just popping is BS.. Either he wasn't conscious of what he was doing or he is an outright lier.  His right hand was definitely on the bottle and you can see him squeeze it during Angelo's approach.

I don't get Xtra Frame so I don't know how well he bowled, but I  saw an 88 in 4th working on a spare.  If he goes sheet, he shoots 258.   So.....to me it didn't look like he was shooting bad at all.

You could clearly see that Belmonte picked the bottle  up the second time when he was on the approach and all as other have  said.  If he he did it the first time....Angelo stepped down...you've  got the bottle in your hand...take the drink...be done with it.  Picking  it up again is just calling attention to yourself all over again.

if u were a nice person u dont confront say such thing on TV, u fix it afterwards

Brad was being a deeck, and even that Belmo went and apologized

its very clear to me

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

Let's go back to the PBA days when the crowd was cheering throughout the bowlers approach and delivery. :)

I use whatever ball works for me.

I really don't like Angleo, but sure looks likes he did it on purpose with the bottle...

it certainly looks like he might have done on purpose. i don't know either of them so i guess it is unfair for me to speculate. if this is the case (really only belmo knows for sure) i would say it perfectly reflects the decline of the game as it is now. our local yearly masters show included obscenities referring to using the male appendage as a straw. they haven't replayed the show and i hear they won't be televising next year's finals (don't know if there is a link as i am not part of the show production). we bowled a team last week whose repertoire included the prerequisite pdw hand chops to the groin along with pelvis thrusts, middle finger waves, simulated mooning, and yelling "woo" with no regard for others being in their approach. add to this the pornographic cards in front of little kids and as my non-bowling buddy says: "well you know, bowling ain't the sport of kings." i am not a prude nor do i have a perfectly clean mouth but i am wondering if bowling should be referred to as the sport of dirtbags. or maybe it isn't a sport at all. rant off.

I think we look at it all wrong. I believe we are use to the noise and everyone around us during our shot that we are able to focus better on our shot. Now try being the only person up to bowl and everyone watching you with minimal noise. We arent use to that. A crinking water bottle on league nite would never be heard, but on tv it prob echoes thru the alley. Also why dont pros complain when the next bowler is practicing 20 lanes down and you can still here the pins crack? just a thought

if you have to adjust the surface, you either bought the wrong ball or you can't adjust
