Falling back on to your right foot will cause a loss af accuracy. All of your weight appears to be over your left heel and not the front part of your foot. You can't have a free armswing like that.
Mike Jasnau showed me the same thing when I took a lesson from him. While I wasn't as far over the heel as you are,he got me to point the toes of my right foot instead of pointing with my right heel, which is something I had never been told before.

You are putting all your weight on your heels which does not allow balance. You are also never square in any part of your body. Your feet, hips, shoulder, and head are all face way open. You should try to stay more erect in the beginning of your approach with your shoulders level and square. I would also say you are cupping your wrist a large amount that might also be getting in the way of RPMs and your speed being imparted to the ball.

You are going to add more RPMs by achieving a relaxed fluid release and getting your timing locked in than you ever will by pure muscling it. Its not the best video quality, but this a video of me bowling in which I am not cupping wrist beyond getting my thumb to 90 degrees to my arm but I am imparting 375 RPMs although you can not see it. This is achieved by a fluid release motion and a release at the moment of optimum leverage which is right next to the slide foot.

Ok so I should keep my wrist free and just accelerate my followthrough with a free armswing?

I wouldn't say free wrist. Just think of having it behind the ball instead of under the ball. Kinetic energy does not like to travel around sharp turns. Just like a bent elbow causes problems so does and over cupped wrist. Also, when you cup your wrist less you will find that you are going to feel much freer in your armswing.

I am not saying that some wrist cupping is bad. He is just getting too much. I would suggest you look at some of the top PBA bowlers and see if any of them cup their wrist as much as he does? I looked at higher rev pros: Weber, Mallot, Duke, Barnes, Jones, and Rash. Rash is the only one that gets close and he is still only going slightly past a 90 degree thumb. I would suggest that you should always try to emulate the top PBA bowlers. If there is something that they all do, or don't do in their form I think that is a pretty good hint that we should all be looking at doing it that way.

First of all I am a trained and qualified coach, and secondly I am not looking at his wrist during the swing I am looking at his release where he is getting under the ball a little too much. This is then compounded by him not releasing his wrist in his release so the ball is falling off the side of his hand. This results in loss of speed and RPMs. It is not the worst case ever of this, but it is happening and it does get in the way of his ball speed and RPMs. As far as basics he has a very good grasp of the basics. I am getting a little picky because there isn't much there.

Whysoserious,

I want you to correct your swing plane, and your steps first before we change anything.

Get your steps in line, and don't step the 2nd step left.  Do this for a few weeks and work at it.  Than make a new video.  It's going to feel weird, and un coordinated.  You might fall down, you might throw the ball wacky, it's going to feel bad.  But it will be GOOD in the end.

Your problem is steps and your swing path.   The excessive going left makes your body lean too much right and your swing is all out of line.

That's the issue to correct first.   Start from there.

I do agree here. The steps are the first thing you should be working on. The only reason I am talking so much about the release is because of the questions he asked about it and because my idea was under criticism.

Go back and read my first post, I started with the feet, then I went to his body during his approach followed by his stance at address. The final thing I mentioned was the release. I went from most important and obvious to the smallest thing. I am not his coach and he is not paying me so I am going to offer the things that he should work on to fix up and let him do it. If I was his coach I would be walking him through it, starting with the first thing I noticed. Again, I answered the questions he had about what I said and now I am responding to you attacking my advice. He asked about the release so I clarified more. That is all. Now you are going off the deep end like I told the kid to stand backward at the approach. I would also suggest that you look at yourself quoting an article with pictures and diagrams while I wasn't. Who is the one looking at the text book? I am done arguing this with you on this thread, if you want to continue this childish argument you can send me a pm but I really don't care.

Whysoserious,
I am sorry we hijacked your thread and if you have anymore questions I would be happy to speak to you more. I would suggest that we do it through pm so it does not again turn into an argument about coaching in which somebody seems to believe they need to get between you and information and make sure they hold your hand though all of it one step at a time. If you need more clarification on anything I said I would be more than happy to explain it to you.
