Short Pin Radical Payback on 36' Ball Video
« on: October 25, 2021, 01:54:47 PM »
I really struggle on short oil and have trouble getting urethane throught the pins so I punched up a 2.5" short pin Radical Payback.  In this video I take it out on a fresh 36' pattern and compare it to my benchmark ball - the Ebonite GB4.  What aspect of bowling do you struggle with the most?

When you hit your spots, that ball had pretty good motion.  Not enough people drill short pins for controlling shots.  I'd rather do this than use urethane, as I feel you can say in the same area and not get a huge change in reaction with the reactive and a short pin to PAP.   I'll be drilling up some new stuff soon and will be putting a similar drill on at least one of my balls.

Thanks!  The 2.5" pin is definitely a different shape than urethane but just better suits my eye.  I agree that more people need this type of layout in their bag even if it is just for shorter/tougher patterns.
