Title: My First Ball Video...A MOtion Holed Radical Yeti
Post by: Doug Sterner on June 13, 2013, 10:38:46 PM
Here's the long awaited video to fulfill my commitment to BrunsNick for the Yeti test ball.

I am very happy with this ball although it has taken me some getting used to in terms of adjustments and moves on the lane.

Reaction is great and carry is excellent.

Feel free to comment or ask any questions you may have.

Doug, nice video.

A few comments.

Maybe its just me, but I like to watch the person actually release the ball and watch the ball path from the foul line to the pins.  Based on the release, I can better tell how strong the ball really is and also how forgiving.

Looking forward to your next video.

Nice video Doug. I don't know if it was camera angle or not, but several shots looked like the ball never completed the second transition. Instead of splitting the 8-9 it deflected right. Could've been the surface or condition too. Great job on the video. You seem to be getting the ball cleaner off your hand. I'll see you at the clinic.

Thanks guys.

Stan....yes I wanted to do some full side shots and some from behind. In fact I actually did take that video but the lighting was so bad they were unusable.

Tommy...you are correct. If you notice every single 10 pin was inside of target (intentionally...lol) and the ball never stood up and therefore didn't get far enough left to split the 8-9. This is part of the learning curve for me with this ball. I HAVE to get it right on our house pattern whereas most of m y stuff will check too hard on the backend if I play that line. And yes, after an extreme amount if help from Eric and Mo the ball is coming off my hand super clean. I just need to focus on lessening the mucle in my swing now. I still tense up thinking I need to "smack it" to make to go. Staying both days for seminar.....can't wait!!!!!

Nice video Doug I agree with Stan on watching the bowler's approach and release.  Some of these videos show bowlers slipping, off-balance, etc. at the foul line but a flush strike.  Seeing as most of these videos only show strikes, it helps me to guess how much the strike is related to good shot-making.

Nice Video Doug. I have played around with (plugging and re-drilling weight holes) my Reax until I am blue in the face and was never able to feel comfortable with that ball. The Yeti looks like a better piece for my style of play.

Man, I thought our backends here were soft . . yours look non-existant.  That's a crap ton of oil.  The ball never really gets into any kind of roll or different stage of reaction because there's just oil everywhere.
