My first video...
« on: March 09, 2008, 04:45:16 PM »
So I've been using video a lot recently to help my game out by spotting weaknesses in mechanics and what not.  I know I have a lot of work left to do, but I felt like I needed some input from people.  Try not to be too too critical .  Let me know what you think.

Thanks to everyone for the constructive things to work on for my game.  Mostly everyone was very gracious and had good things to say.  For those who think my game is terrible and "nothing special," I have to say that I'm far from terrible I think. I have my PBA card and have cashed in regional events, so I can't be terrible.

My timing is late for a reason, when my timing is earlier, I chicken wing it.  I drift for a reason.  Since I'm not 150 pounds, when I slide, my legs are bigger and I cannot slide directly straight so I walk left to prevent myself from being 10 boards right of where I start. My knees don't bend a lot for a reason.  If I bend my knees a lot, my spine tilt gets too far forward causing me to loft the ball terribly and grab it at the bottom of the swing.

I agree I do need to work on my balance at the line.  I've seen worse arm swings in my time (Mike Scroggins).  Also, if you paid any attention to the videos, you can clearly see I am not trying to hook the whole lane in all of them.  I do what the lanes dictate.  I'm on the 13 board in half of the videos and I'm only right of 20 about 3 of the shots.  If I wanted to hook the whole lane like a tool, I would.
