Title: My latest video from the Kegel Training Center
Post by: Scooterdog on January 29, 2008, 01:26:36 PM
I ripped some video from my latest trip to Kegel. If shows all my faults in all the gory details. I even have some good footage of Ozio ! Just thought I would share.

The first clip shows what has to be the worst follow-thru EVER ! How do I ever hit my mark !?! Now I see why I spray two balls a game. You have to turn up the volume on your speakers to hear the audio.

Next clip shows my bad habit of chasing the ball at release. Maybe I just don't want to let go of the ball or something. Down below David Ozio shows the correct way. Have to keep the back angle the same.

Last clip shows some of the corrections. Still have some of the old habits. Guess it will just takes some time to groove in the new changes.

I also have a great front view of Barnes in slow motion. If any body wants me to post it let me know.
Let me know what everybody thinks.

Ok, ask and you shall receive. Please excuse the bad bowler on the left.   I really love the slow mo on the Barnes release. Its a little surprising how little axis rotation he uses.

I second the motion. So much nicer to see this than the normal "Here I am watch me crank it" garbage video that's posted. This is informative, comparative, very well done.
Looks like it was a great experience. Thanks for sharing it.

Scott,

I'm on my way back from Kegel today. I was there on Monday and Tuesday, working with Stephen. Sounds to me like you worked with Randy, who was a very cool dude.

Stephen was a great coach and I learned a ton.. I may post a video or two when I get home. I'm hoping to get back there later this year. How was your experience??

Glad everybody liked the videos. I usually work with Stephen but he was away in Japan at the time. Kegel is my favorite place to go. I've been there about five times and seem to learn something new every time. It is such a big help to see the bowler and the pro side by side. I am really thinking of getting my own sports analysis software. Unless Next Level PS wants to give me his BowlersMap software that he never uses !

I have more footage from other trips. When I get time I'll post them also.

I would love to go to Kegle and have them turn me from a bad bowler to a not so bad bowler.  How much is a session there?

Thanks Se7en. Just remember everybody for the most part opened up the lanes for me. I got there late after at least 20 some odd games were bowled on the pair. If I get area right I'll always look good. I just had to move left and throw right. If you look at the clips of my game you can see that I'm inside out with my swing. The bad follow-thru is a result of me trying to get a lot of axis rotation. If I'm on the Shark pattern or any long oil pattern I look terrible. The changes will only help me on tougher patterns. This is because I'll have better leverage and my swing will be true.

May I know what's the differences between group I and II instructors?

Hey newbie,

Take a second look at the web page. Its quoting a price for 1 instructor vs 2 instructors. If you have a large group you get more then one instructor. All instructors there are top notch.

Thanks Scott...I am very tempted to try it..I was looking for the CATS system in vegas, but no one has it there...Hmmmmm..wish I found out about this much earlier.
the price seem reasonable considering your are actually getting a lot for the price with CATS...

May I know is the price for bowling balls at their proshop reasonable?

From what I saw of the prices. I would say they are higher then my home pro shop. But Randy has drilled a ton of equipment for the pro's. So what is that worth to you ?
