Title: Rev Rate estimate help

I know this isn''t the way you normally go about figuring rev rate in terms of having a vid of a plastic ball with a 6" piece of tap from your PAP to above the right finger. I just don''t have a camera right now to go shoot another vid.

Would like a guesstimate on what my rev rate might be. This is an older vid.  This is my B game for when I slow down my speed and start to move inside a little. The speed was consistent at 16mph or just above on Qubica.

A few of the shots will show one or two pieces of white tape on the ball. The early ones with one piece of tape is the tape on the CG or the ball. The ones with two pieces of tape are one on the CG and one on the pin.

Thanks for the help.

I took a look at your other vids to try and get an idea of your game... I would say your rev rate is most likely in the low 300''s / high 200''s.

I would say mid to high 300+ rpms.

The vid of the Delta Rule/Alter Ego is on the lower scale. The lanes were open play specials. Dry in the heads in the middle, with a little carry down on the back ends. The ball speed in it 17.5 consistently. The Morich vid is kinda in between. The two balls in the Morich vid felt a little different and I had problems throwing the Awesome Revs. Eventually sold both. lol The High Voltage vid was a little more consistent release and a little easier to see the ball over the other two.

Thanks for the input. I will eventually get one with my plastic ball and some tape on it to get a more accurate idea. I will have to post it on here as well for help.

Almost forgot, any clue on the axis rotation?

In the provided video I would say your rev rate is probably in the mid 300's, but like you mentioned, in the other 2 vids your rev rate was lower.

your axis rotation looks like its in the 40-60 degree range.

take a look at this vid by brunswick, you can see that your rev rate is not as fast as the first shot (400rpms) and is more similar to the 2nd and 3rd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4PRSPdQgzY&feature=related

That is a cool vid. Thanks. Probably 300-350 max. Do you know how to find the axis rotation? If I later get a vid with tape from the PAP to above the right finger to get a little more exact rev rate will it allow you to tell the axis of rotation or is it found another way?

thanks

Its difficult to determine the exact degree of axis rotation, but the best way to get an idea is to tape the ball up from above the fingers to your PAP and then throw a shot (plastic or not plastic doesn't matter much for axis rotation) as straight up the lane as possible and record it from a lower angle. All you have to look at is what angle the ball is spinning towards, of course if you are swinging the ball it becomes much harder to determine as the angle the ball is sent out must be taken into consideration.

Its not 100% accurate unless you have a good camera...
