Here is a short clip of my 10 year old daughter in her league. This is her second year of bowling. It was taken using my phone so it is not great. Any help is appreciated.

Her fake relax arm swing get ride of it .This is why, she has to use some muscle to keep the swing at the same height 2 or 3 swings after the ball is release. 2 swings, the release and 1 more is all you need as long as the 2nd arm swing is slower then the 1st.
watch the some of the best.

From what I saw, your Daughter has the Classic bowling delivery down Pat, her Timing and Execution is incredible for such a young age so in my opinion, don't fix what is not broken, instead take her to a certified coach for instruction on how to make adjustments to changing lane conditions & patterns! A style coupled with Natural leverage like your Daughter has is rare, most bowler's practice their entire lives trying to get to the level your 10 year old is at now. She will be throwing several Honor scores soon if she has not already!

Props to Afflac for dumping Gilbert!

SPR3WR,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have her working on that now, it will take her awhile to get used to getting rid of the extra arm swings.

Schwanstuker,

Thank you for the compliment. She is working with a bronze coach now. She has been able to work on several patterns (all PBA) several of NCAA patterns, and Teen Masters. She is able to play several different lines. Right now I am trying not to burn her out on bowling so she is doing several different activities, but I really hope she stays with bowling.

She most certainly has a great starting point to start from.  I think the most important advice is to make sure to support her career equipment wise from a young age. What I mean by that is to make sure to get a quality pro shop that knows what they're doing to put her in a proper weight , fit etc.  As she grows, make sure her fit changes with her.

I would also, were she my child, make sure that she understands the importance of throwing plastic at spares and becoming accurate with it.  By doing so. she will have a tremendous advantage later in life of having thrown at specific spares for years and years and essentially take a lot of difficulty out of patterns.  Straight at spares (namely single pins) removes the pattern from play.  Along with this, just make sure she's learning and at a rate that she's comfortable with and make sure you provide her with what she needs to be confident in her abilities.  I think often times watching pro's on TV will give her a goal to get to and does in a sense provide info like watching film would for a football player.

Support though is most important.

What a beautiful game though at such a young age.  I think she's got some God given talent, just provide her with the tools she needs to work.

Good Times,

Thanks, We started her off with a plastic ball (9lbs)her first year. After we found out she actually liked bowling and it wasn't a one and done year we moved her to a 10lb slingshot. When she started using her slingshot she automatically picked up her plastic to shoot single pin spares (thank goodness). She has been shooting single pin spares with plastic every since and depending on multi-pin spare leaves she will use one or the other. She has learned how to count boards and can tell what pin is what (6 pin vs 10 & 8 vs 9 etc..). Right now she uses the 3-6-9 rule on single pin spares. I just don't want to hinder her progress or feed her wrong info and she become frustrated and stop.

I'm not trying to be mean, but if she continues those arms swings, she can be referred to as flapper girl.

Just search on YouTube for flapper bowling. You will get a chuckle

I'm in the process of trying to find out where I fit in the bowling world. I do not know my tech specs of my game, but it's all a learning process.

LOL, that is a pretty funny video. Hopefully she never gets to that.
