Total NV and The One on a sport shot
« on: May 02, 2007, 07:41:09 AM »
Total NV is drilled with a 6" pin under middle finger with MB at 45 deg at 4000grit plus polish.
The One is drilled with a 5-1/2" pin over bridge with MB at 60deg at 2000grit and polish.

The oil pattern is a 39ft long med-heavy sport shot

I don't believe anyone is bashing your bowling.  We're just saying that though it is a certified sport shot that from the video you have more than a 2 board area.  You throw a good ball, there's no doubting that.  everyone's commenting on the shot.

Here is a question.  Was the shot being bowled on a FRESH sport shot or had it been bowled on before you started?  If it was not fresh, someone before him could have burned a track outside creating that "area" on the lane.  It is just a thought but great form and ball roll.

The shot was bowled on by the little kids from the youth league and then i bowled for about 30min on them before i shot the video. When i start bowling i play as close to the gutter as i can so around 4-5board breakpoint in order to create and outside hooking area later on. Then i move in and play the break point around 6-7board this ends up giving me a hook spot on the outside and a hold spot inside.

Jesus!  That's a sport shot?  What kind of cheater-oriented, burnt up track are you running in your oiler, man?

Regardless of what it is, that much friction outside would make a pro average 270. Look how wide his ball track is on the lane, about 5 boards. You don't need any accuracy when you have that much friction. Do that on a US Open condition, and then I will be sold.

During the summer our house will sometimes put down a 42ft flat pattern, I'll make a video of that, you'll be surprised on how big the backends will be when u play the lanes right and have a high rev rate.

Secondly this is a real and legit sport pattern, what part of certified don't you understand. I bowl in Minnesota sometimes where there's a block everywhere i go and that is way different than our shot. I think you guys are overestimating how hard sport shots are, there is always a way to play the lanes in order to create an area. If you are good enough and can repeat shots you will create a hook spot eventually. When you spray the ball around the lanes break down unpredictably and you will not be able to create an area to play in.

I don't get why it's so hard to believe that this is a sport pattern how many shots did I miss really wide and came back and ripped the rack. Watch closely if you see the ball going a little right it comes in half pocket when its a little left its high flush, there were no big misses. Also keep in mind that i am playing two balls on different lines the TNV over 16 out to 7 and The One 2/2 right playing over 14 out to 5. Watch the last angle where you can see which board the ball crosses and they are all very consistent, the biggest miss i make is the very last shot when i pull The One two boards inside and i come high flush.

Trust me this is not an easy shot there is not alot of room out there, it may look like theres a big track area on the outside but you can only use that if your ball isn't sliding when it gets there. In the front part of the lane its nearly flat. For one your ball wont suddenly hook when it gets to that track area which is pretty slick to begin with if your ball can't pick up soon enough. If you don't have alot of revs it won't pick up. I'm used to it i've been bowling on it my whole life. You can either rev the ball up like crazy and put smooth onto the lane so it reads earlier, throw it very straight (straight up 10 is very common), or use real aggressive equipment and nearly every here sands there balls to 600grit. When we have provincials here the people who come in from the Sue who have a cake shot complain because there balls won't hook and that the outsides are way to slick. About lane surface i bowled on the 1&2 pair on the low end of the house. Low end has bigger backends, high end can get real tight.

Inferno, how many games did you bowl on that pair during your video? Total shots--the ones that made it on video and before the video.

thanks

There was the youth league that bowled on them, plus i bowled maybe 30 shots before the video. I taped maybe 20shots for the video, so 50 total. I started at 14 out 6, and filmed the video playing 15 out to 7 and the very last set of shots i move in again to 16 to 7. Keep in mind the One is always played 2/2 right of the TNV.
