Title: Why Post Vids from The Waist Down?
Post by: scotts33 on March 18, 2010, 05:54:12 PM
I don't understand why folks post vids the majority of the time from the waist down?  Is it they don't want to others to see waist up?  No tri-pod?  What like $12?

I don't have a cam but Id like to see more angles from the top nothing to hide especially the manufacturer personnel.  What's the point of this?  Billy Orlikowski can show his style why not others?

how can you complain that people can't afford a $12 tripod when you yourself won't spring for a digital camera. not like they are all the expensive anymore

They want a close-up of the ball release?

It's funny.  I just got a Flip HD camera, then ordered the tripod online so I'd be able to take video from dirrerent angles.  It's like 3" tall!  I guess it gives stability, but I'll have to get some boxes to sit it on or tilt it up some, but that might look worse.  I'm hoping to get some video Sunday, but know nothing of editing, so who knows when it will be ready.

"No tri-pod? What like $12?"
Actually you can get some that go on top of water bottles like this one for $10- http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/bottle-cap-tripod
Or you can make your own for about 50 cents using the same concept-

Set em on the counter or table and you're good to go...

I don't believe it's a case of they don't want to show their delivery. I believe most people want to see the ball reaction more than they want to see Jack Swagger prancing onto the approach, blowing into his thumbhole (while wearing a glove), resetting over and over to get that "perfect rack", then once everything is perfect, utilizing his patented shuffle, stutter, stutter, big plant approach. Followed up by the vertical chicken wing armswing where they proceed to miss 7 boards inside everytime to show you how it "holds".

Just a thought.

No, you may not handle my balls. Well....maybe just for a little while.

as soon as somone posts a vid of the entire approach the people on here feel compelled to point out the "wrongs" in their delivery, instead of watching the ball motion which the majority of vids are for, I'd post mine but all I will hear is nice shovel, nice chicken wing, instead of nice consistency at the bottom and the ball rolls good, great recovery outside or blah blah blah, why subject my crappy form that I already know sucks to further critisism when all i am really trying to show is ball performance

hypothetically speaking

I'd agree trigg....that's why I think folks don't show the whole approach from behind as they don't want to show their technique.

Also, though I didn't post it correctly in the OP I meant from the manufacturers vids not necessarily individuals that post on this forum.

Take a look at Billy O's vid click on watch video.  http://www.bowlwithbrunswick.com/balls/detail/evil-siege/

While I agree with what you said Trig and Scott, I know in talking with others that I respect in bowling....style is just that.  You can have things that are wrong, but if you are able to repeat shots wihtin reasons.....who cares what others have to say.

I know I've posted vids from behind....but my camera at that time wasn't the best and it was hard to see what boards I was going over.
