An updated Inferno core with Activator Plus coverstock? Oh yes! I love this ball. My most used ball the past six months has been the Python. I have found it useful on a wide variety of conditions that I encounter. I like it so much that I keep two with different layouts in my bag. Well, now comes along the newest snake line edition, the Anaconda. Wrap that more agressive coverstock around the proven Inferno core and I knew I was going to love this ball. I drilled it up same as one of my Python's with the pin in the down position.
Took this ball to PA State tournament right after drilling it up. Immediately found a good line playing down the boards between 3 and 5 (left-handed). The Anaconda revved up so nicely off the hand and the coverstock read the lanes with ease. The ball never went through the break point. Consistently read the end of the pattern and made a strong move off of it. Pin carry was excellent. The other left handers on my lane and the lanes adjacent to me were talking about how tight the lanes were and how they could not get enough traction downlane. The Anaconda was having no trouble and shot after shot made a strong move to the pocket. As the pattern broke down a bit I was able to move 2 & 1 to the right and continue with no loss of carry.
The Anaconda is a great addition to the snake line. The ball is reminiscent of the Absolute Inferno. As the Summer progresses and the Fall league season approaches I anticipate seeing many more of these during competition. This will be a benchmark ball for many different style bowlers. Get one before your opposition does!

The Anaconda is the ball that I have been waiting for for quite sometime. The balls I have had the most success with have been the Ratter, the Inferno, and the Absolute Inferno. This Brunswick release takes some of the best aspects of all three and improves upon them. The Anaconda has length, controllability, monster strength at the breakpoint, combined with more continuation at the breakpoint. As the lane pattern breaks down, many brunswick balls in the past have begun to hook early and stop, not this ball. The Anaconda will square up and carry at the pins, but as the pattern breaks down the ball continues to gets stronger and stronger. As long as you move left it will continue to strike, no ten pins from this one. I copied the layout off of my favorite Rattler when I drilled the Anaconda looking for a slightly stronger but similar reaction and that is exactly what I saw on the lanes. This ball is 4 and 2 stronger than my Rattler, which has more surface on it, and has more continuation at the breakpoint. The further left I moved, the more the Anaconda came back and the harder the messenger came off the wall to get the 9 pin! This ball is usable for most bowlers on most lane conditions and is a must have. Stand left, throw right, and destroy the rack with the Anaconda!

Ball 1 is drilled 60x50x80 with a P2 hole. I wanted this ball to be something like my benchmark ball. I will use this alot on the medium patterns on the fresh to see what and where I need to play the lanes.
Ball 2 is drilled 45x 5 1/4x25. I copied a drilling off my Python and Rattler. This allows me a ball to go to when I need to move in but don't need the ball to clear the fronts with no effort. The layout allows the ball to still conserve energy and get around the corner.

This ball just seems like an every day ball for me. Clears the heads with ease and makes a very smooth/strong turn to the pocket. I've used it on a freshly oiled ProLane surface 3 times now and I just love the reaction. I am so glad Brunswick brought this Absolute Inferno remake back to the market. Great colors, great price, great read on the lane, and great carry! We're gonna' sell a ton of this one.

Purpose:
I’ve been wanting to drill something that would be a step down from the Diamondback, but with a similar shape, to handle medium to drier medium conditions where I need to get the ball to start up some but still have some continuation at the break. On these conditions, the Python can be too pushy in the oil, and the Rattler tends to be too even at the break to give me a good carry angle from inside.
Why this ball?
The Anaconda, with the Activator Plus cover and ultra-low RG Inferno core, is intended to give the bowler an aggressive reaction with a medium response to friction, resulting in a smoother and more predictable trajectory for playing more direct angles.
Observations:
I wanted to go with a layout in the Anaconda that was similar to the 5†pin-under layout in my Diamondback. The Anaconda that I got has a 3 ¼†pin, so I had to drill a balance hole to get the statics legal.
Before I drilled the Anaconda, I had heard the rumors that this ball would essentially be an updated version of the Absolute Inferno. The Absolute had that combination of hook-laziness and overall strength that made it great on conditions that had good coverage in front and a blend from front to back and side to side. When I threw the Anaconda for the first time, it navigated the front part of the lane with ease, and then faced up to the pocket after making a defined move at the break.
However, the proof of the pudding was in how well the Anaconda would perform when I ran into transition, and had to move inside and give it some room. The Anaconda proved to be well up to the task. In fact, I was able to get a good reaction and maintain a carry angle as I continued to move left on the lane.
In using the Anaconda on a number of conditions on several different lane surfaces, I’ve noticed that the progression from the Diamondback to the Anaconda bears some similarity to the progression from the Siege to the Evil Siege. The Diamondback works well for me on blended oilier to medium conditions, as long as I can chase the oil inside and still have a clean ball path. When I notice the Diamondback starting to flutter, I can pull out the Anaconda and get the clean reaction in front that I need to carry corners.
Conclusions:
All in all, I must say that I am very pleased with the reaction of the Anaconda, and that it should fit well in that “weaker pin down†spot in the bag. I could probably also use the Anaconda on fresher conditions in a pinch, but on longer patterns or conditions with some push, I’d have to be careful with my ball speed if I want to get a consistent carry angle. For me, the strong suit of the Anaconda has been its ability to maintain a favorable reaction shape as the condition breaks down.
So now I’m thinking that I can pair the Anaconda with the Evil Siege in the tournament bag, using the Evil on medium to broken-down conditions that favor a more direct trajectory to the pocket or on which I can fall back the inside oil, and the Anaconda when I need to generate more angle at the break or hook around the push down lane.

I used a 45X4 3/4X70 dual angle layout so that I could create moderate length and a more controlled ball motion. I was try to compare this ball with my Wild Ride (has the same dual angles). What I saw was that the Anaconda and the Wild Ride were both very clean in the front but the Anaconda read the mid-lane stronger and had a slower response to the friction at the end of the pattern. Though the Anaconda had a smoother ball motion the continuation through the pins was very strong. The Anaconda handled the lane transitions well and I was able to stay with this ball for an entire league set with out sacrificing any carry. This is a must ball for those looking to add a strong, predictable ball motion to their arsenal.

Intended Purpose:
I wanted this ball to be the benchmark ball in my arsenal. I know that some say you need a solid for a benchmark piece, but anyone that has thrown the Absolute Inferno in the past, knows that, though it was a pearl, reacted just as well as most solids of its time. With advances in oil, I figured that this ball would not be as strong as it used to be, thus making it a good benchmark. For me, this particular drilling has given me an easy to read reaction that is controllable (everything that I want out of a benchmark ball).
Comments:
Carry - This ball hits very hard and keeps the pins low on the deck. Considering the fact that this ball uses a modified version of the Inferno core, carry is quite good. Due to the higher RG, the ball maintained carry/angle slightly better than my Absolutes had in the past (for me, this was the only downfall of the Absolute Inferno).
Likes - Works very well on multiple conditions depending on the cover stock prep. Cover can be easily altered for various conditions. Cover and core seem to be very complimentary. The ball maintains energy well. For me, due to the cover stock, this ball is great at blending the oil pattern from front to back (due to the medium reaction to friction). I can use this for most of a set with easy adjustments.
Dislikes –For me, I would like for the cover stock to be slightly stronger (if I pull it inside the oil line, it can get a little skittish). This causes me to be a little more careful with side to side adjustments (this might blend a little better with a stronger drill).
Overall: A good ball for any bowler (league or tournament). It is smooth and it easy to read when to throw it and when to put it away. Carry is above average. At this price point, this ball will surprise many people. This ball was exactly what I was looking for when I drilled it. That is really all you can ask for.

The ball is pretty similar to the Absolute Inferno from a few years ago, but it gets cleaner down the lane with a sharper turn in the backend. It reads the mids nice and turns the corner hard when it finds friction. With proven technology at an affordable price, you can’t go wrong with the new Anaconda.

For the past month or so, I’ve really been looking for a ball that would have an early read of the midlane but not hook off the lane once it read friction. Basically I wanted a stronger look but similar shape of my Avalanche Urethane. When I first heard about the Anaconda being similar to the Absolute Inferno, I knew this would be the ball to fill that spot in my bag. The layout used is one that I dug out of the closet that has always worked well when I want a smooth arc that starts in the midlane while still allowing me to play more outside lines.
Please note that this is a trick layout that I’ve had success with in the past and my ball roll with this ball is not that of what you’d see with a more “traditional†layout on the Anaconda. I chose this ball for this layout because of the core properties seen in the Inferno core.
On my 39’ medium-dry THS, the Anaconda gave me a look that only urethane could come close to. I was lined up at 12 at the laydown out to 8 at the breakpoint. The ball motion was very “urethane-like†except with a more pronounced shape at the breakpoint. Even with starting so close to the friction, the Anaconda was super smooth in reading the pattern. This ball is probably the greatest ball I’ve thrown that fights over/under reaction seen from THS quite like this. When sent wide, the ball ignored the earliest of the friction, read the middle of the pattern, and came back to the pocket with plenty of energy stored up. When pulled inside, the ball still rolled heavy but held line thanks to the pattern and struck hard. League bowlers commented that the “CRACK†heard at the pindeck was unlike anything they’ve heard.
I have yet to throw this ball on a more competitive condition but I expect this ball to be golden on patterns 37’ or less when playing an outside line. It really makes me want to test it out on the Cheetah!!

Years ago I got a chance to bowl with a friend's absolute inferno and I loved it but for some reason I never bought one. I was determined not to miss out on the updated version of it this time in the Anaconda. This is the type of ball you can have confidence in every time you throw it, that you know what it is going to do. It simply rolls smoothly down the lane and makes a powerful, but smooth move to the pocket and rips the rack. I get all sorts of carry with this ball: light hits, crossovers, can openers, messengers, etc. I can easily bowl a three game set in league with this ball without hardly moving but 2 boards or so the whole night, and this is the only ball I need for league since I also shoot my spares with my strike ball.
I was slumping this summer and averaging less than 210 in my league, with this ball so far I am averaging 230 over the past few weeks. Adding to the reputation of longevity/durability in performance that the Activator coverstock has, I can see myself not needing a new ball for a while which is not the case with other high performance equipment I have had. The Anaconda is quite amazing for a ball in this price range, even if it is based on old technology, I highly recommend it.

Review:
The selling points of this ball are the durability of the Activator plus cover and the slower absorption rate of oil thus making this ball last longer. The low rg shaped core spins up quickly helping the ball get into a roll, with that said this is what I saw when my Daughter Ashley threw it.
This ball is absolutely a winner for her and matches up perfectly for her spinner type release. I was surprised on how much hook this low grade polished ball had, for her the ball matches up best on a medium to oily condition and revs up very quick. It has a strong arch type hook. This ball hooks and hits like any $200 plus ball. Compared to her Brunswick C.S. 4.5, the Anaconda is 4-5 feet earlier at the breakpoint and is 3-4 boards more overall hook.
Again Billy O. and Brunswick rule the "bang for your buck" marketplace designing the best mid priced balls out there.

Reaction - I chose this drilling as the AMF center that I bowl in has extreme wet-dry conditions. With my medium speed, my previous ball reactions were too quick and caused all kinds of problems for me. With this drilling, I was able to play around 12-15 at the arrows, and clear the fronts with ease, watch the transisiton to the dry and allow the strong cover and dry back ends to give a smooth but aggressive move to the pocket.
Overall - If you are looking for aggressive, controllable power, you dont have to look no further than Anaconda

"Out of the box" Surface, 500 grit Micropad with Rough Buff on top
My PAP is 5 3/8" over and 7/8" up Dual Angle Drilling Layout - 45 Deg x 4 1/2" x 65 Deg which puts the pin below my ring finger and has a P2 weight hole
I wanted a ball that would start up sooner but didn't have a ton of backend on a fresh shot. What I got was a great rolling ball that has a smooth arc. The ball doesn't quit on the backend and keeps going through the pins. This ball doesn't over-react to friction, and is very good even on a 2nd shift league which is were I used it for the first time. I have to say that this might just be my new favorite ball on house patterns even though I only used it 1 time so far. I would recommend this ball for most any house conditions and if you are looking for a smooth ball that won't go crazy when reaching the friction, this ball won't disappoint. Another great ball from Brunswick at a great price point!

Got this ball out of curiosity, just to try it out. Drilled it to be smooth through the heads and have a smooth arc in the backend.
Out of the box, all i can say is that this isnt the ball for me. Tended to be a little finicky. Sometimes it would check up early, and some times the ball wouldnt turn at all. I didnt know why. Ended up putting the ball away after trying it for 3 games.
Cant blame the ball though yah know
Theres always something you can do.Gave the ball another chance a while later and this time i Highly Polished the ball. Now the ball started reacting much more consistanly, and had a smoother arcing motion in the backend. Noticed the ball hits decently hard for a ball on the cheaper side.
Pretty good ball polished. Just not the ball for me out of the box. Had to play around with the coverstock to make this ball to my liking.
But i know alot of other bowlers will love this ball
being honest...

The Anaconda is extremely smooth. It provides average length, is very rolly and has just the right amount of backend to kick out the 10. I've enjoyed this ball on the fresh house pattern as it smooths out the wall for me and allows me to control the strong backends. I also have appreciated this ball's shape on the cheetah pattern as again I am able to control the pattern - particularly my bounce off the outside boards.
In terms of reaction I find this ball to be slightly longer and stronger than my solid Avalanche, but smoother and weaker than my C system 2.5. The Anaconda is a control piece with the potential to handle all sorts of medium volume patterns. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a first ball out of your bag, particularly on fresh synthetic surfaces.

Likes: Used it to replace my Wild Thing, which in turn had replaced a Pearl Fury. Great read ball on tournament conditions. Very versatile for a variety of conditions. Very typical of what made Brunswick equipment great for tournament conditions before the Furys C Systems and Sieges.
Dislikes: The only thing better than the Absolute Inferno was the Vapor Zone. They should have puit the asymetrical core in this one and made it a Vapor Zone remake. You need some dry board somewhere with this ball.

I like the way this ball reads the lane.It is very smooth and packs a punch when it hits the pins.A bench mark ball and very affordable.A great ball when some carry down occurs.

bought it because I loved the Absolute Inferno
comparison
Absolute Inferno:
-threw consecutive strikes for 2000 straight games
-used the serial number to win the lottery
-serial number helped remind me of my 50th wedding anniversary
-the color scheme put me in the right state of mind to write that novel that helped me win a Pulitzer and the Nobel Peace Prize.
-it's shagadelic

-green, i like green
-engraved eyes scared me straight, thought I was going to turn to stone
-did I mention its green?
-easy to find on the ball return because its usually the only green brunswick ball there
-its round not oval
conclusion:
its a toss up, more empirical research required, or maybe I'll just toss them up and whichever lands on the ground wins. Hope the green ball wins
