LANE CONDITION
Volume: low
Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): 5-1
Likes: Very soft move off of the dry, lets me play more direct angles on dry lanes
Dislikes: oil and deep angles
I drilled the Urethane Avalanche pin above the bridge (about 5" to my PAP) to help it get down lane to compliment my 2x Green Avalanches with long, low pins to play more in the track on drier lanes. This ball provides more length than the green avalanches with a super slow move off the dry. I took the cover down to 2000 grit, as this ball tended to wiggle a bit in the carrydown due to the high pin and pearl urethane cover.
I would recommend this ball for anybody who is speed challenged/rev dominant that wants to be able to play out where the lower rev players are scoring. This is a ball that will help keep you in play when the lanes are dry and provide you with an option to go more direct on drier lanes.
***I ended up taking the cover down to 500 and 1000 grit and actually saw BETTER results than I did at 2000. I highly recommend taking this ball down in grit, because come on, who really needs a shiny pearl urethane in 2011...
