Description: Take your bowling game to a state of Nirvana!  The Brunswick Nirvana bowling ball features the Nirvana Ultra Low RG core and surrounds it with the ECS (Enhanced Composite Segmentation) coverstock.  The ECS coverstock technology allows this ball to produce more friction and a wider sweet spot to eliminates the need for a lot of adjustments.  This technology also produces a quicker refresh rate and an extended performance life for the coverstock.  The core is a single density rounded elliptical inner core that is uniquely created to optimize ball motion and allow various drilling options to gain pin action and higher scores.  This ball is finished with a 1500 grit Siaair Micro Pad that gives it length through the front of the lane, awesome midlane traction and exceptional backend continuation on medium to oily lane conditions.

Length: 43

Volume: 25ml

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

Layout: Pin over bridge, CG kicked out to give 3/4 oz side weight. MB about 1 inch to the right of the thumb.

The Brunswick Nirvana really sets the tone for the new technology they’re putting into their coverstock formulations. I have rarely seen a High Performance bowling ball have such forgiveness. It’s clean through the fronts, drives really hard off the breakpoint and goes through the pins strong. I pull this ball out for game 1 in all of my leagues, at 3 different houses on 3 completely different lane surfaces. The motion is very controllable. The low RG and high differential core in this ball really shines when paired with this new ECS cover tech. Make sure you keep up with a cleaning regimen on this ball; it does get lane shine fairly quickly. It hasn’t affected ball motion for me with 50 or so games on it, but it definitely gets shiny after 15 games or so.

The new Nirvana is Brunswicks new high performance bowling ball. This ball is the strongest Brunswick ball to date.

The Nirvana is aggressive yet clean enough to get through the front of the lane. It is the most angular aggressive ball to date too. When compared to the original Mastermind it is about a narrow stronger but cleaner and more angular. Almost 2 arrows stronger than the Mastermind Einstein.

With the strength of this ball I added polish on top of the box surface. I did this because I already have a Guru Master and I wanted the Nirvana to be used more often. This has quickly became one of my favorite balls.

If you want a ball that has plenty of hook and want a great shape through the pins... You need a Nirvana.

I drilled Nirvana with a weaker layout as I'm not normally a fan of high end solids.  But to my surprise I LOVE this ball.  On my normal house shot the out of box surface was just too much.  I put some of the royal compound on the ball and it just came to life.  That ball is cleaner than I have ever seen out of a high end solid.  I've also used it in Regionals on longer and higher volumes and put surface on it and just struck for days.  I recently used my Nirvana on the Scorpion pattern with 1000 grit and used it all the way to the title match.  This ball was able to get back from places other people were not able to. Made it seem like I wasn't even bowling on the same pattern as everyone else.  Looking for a ball that will hook on some oil with todays oils being as slick as they are?  Look no further than the Nirvana!!

Left handed, 15 mph, ~400 rev rate, PAP 4 1/2" over 1/2" up, drilled Nirvana 50*x5x35*.
The Nirvana is one of only 2 non-Radical bowling balls I have drilled in the past 2 1/2 years.  This ball provides a shape I have not seen in any bowling ball in quite some time.  Mind you, I am used to seeing Guru's curve a lot and maintain exceptional energy through the pins, this Nirvana is just sick!  I have adjusted the cover to 4000 wet sand.  As you know, some balls/drillings help you play straight, others help you curve the ball when the situation requires it.  This is a ball that can cover some boards!  I also have drilled a DV8 Vandal that allows me to move right and open the lane.  When I move out of the Vandal's "sweet spot" and need to make a ball change, straight to the Nirvana I go and adjust a few boards as needed, boom time, right back to putting 10 back.
Brunswick, DV8, Radical are all making the absolute best covers right now, hands down.  Variety to give a bowler everything they need and this happens to suit anyone who wants/needs to cover some boards to knock over a lot of pins.  Don't just believe me, research some of the scores that have been posted with this ball.  It really is special.
As I mentioned, I have only drilled 2 non-Radical balls in the past 2 1/2 years, so I have limited personal experience with many of the Brunswick balls...however I am more than happy to help research what might be a good choice for you to fit into your arsenal.  Shoot me an email at: ChrisHeringer@gmail.com

I drilled the Nirvana with a 65X5.5X40 layout and took the surface up to 4000 to start.  On the THS I bowl my regular league at, this ball will not see much action as we are very oil deprived.  The Center that I run and sub in on occasion, and longer tournament patterns is where this ball will see use.  For me this ball on my centers house shot is cleaner and more angular on the back end than the Mastermind Einstein.  I see about 2 feet more and length and a 3-4 board sharper break to the pins.  When I bowled on a tournament condition, the 4000 surface was to clean, so back to box it went and the look was much better and pretty much what I expected.  Still debating if I am going to put a P3 hole in or not, but will figure it out with more use.

Nirvana drilled 60x5x45 (pin up) at box finish.
My intent with the Nirvana was to give me a ball to open my angles up even on longer/heavier oil.  The Nirvana most reminds me of the original Nexus, picking up in a similar spot with a similar roll, but stronger on the backend.

The Nirvana picks up as much as anything in my bag not named pin down Guru Supreme, yet gives me possibly the hardest move off the friction of any solid that I have thrown.  So far I have used the Nirvana on our house shot, 41' Beaten Path and 43' Dead Man's Curve.  With the exception of one night on Beaten Path, the Nirvana has honestly been too much ball on all 3 patterns, forcing me too far inside the oil line to take advantage of the track being developed by the bowlers with whom I am usually crossing.

With that in mind, the night where I had my best look crossing with a team consisting of a tweener also throwing a Nirvana, a 500rpm junior throwing surface and a 2hander.  On that particular night, the oil line developed a good arrow left of where it normally would and I was able to start left and lead the pair in with confidence, knowing that the ball would recover.

I would recommend the Nirvana for anybody looking for a strong ball that would allow them to step further towards the middle of the lane to open up their angles.  This ball will be particularly popular with high speed/lower rev players, allowing them to play parts of the lane normally reserved for bowlers with more hand.  For players with more hand, there is really no need to cross this many boards on everyday house conditions, but the Nirvana is a ball that will be a nice compliment to my tournament bag for heavy oil.

The new Brunswick Nirvana features a Ultra Low RG core with  ECS (Enhanced Composite Segmentation) coverstock which
allows this ball to produce more friction and a wider sweet spot to eliminates the need for a lot of adjustments.

To take advantage of the aggressive RG/core combination, I drilled my ball 85 x 2 1/4 x 30 with no weight hole.  This ball is clean thru the front, revs strong in the midlane and moves from the spot with a quick and aggressive motion. This ball covers a lot of area really quick and is very forgiving.  For me, this ball does not deflect much and carries even the lightest of hits. This ball would be a welcome addition to your arsenal if you are looking for strong movement on your oily house condition or sport shot.

LANE CONDITION

Length: 42 ft.

Volume: 26ml

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

COMMENTS

Likes: The NIRVANA seems to be a very nice mix of strength and versatility.  Easier to get through the front of the lane than many of it's predecessors.  More kick when it finds some friction.

At factory surface I've found it more useful on the lower friction surfaces.  For the higher friction lane surfaces the ball hits better for me with a small dose of compound (shine).  Overall I believe that this one can be an important addition for those needing something that can handle oil, yet still finish nicely.

Dislikes:  None. It does what I expected, and very well.

LANE CONDITION

Length: THS, Nationals team pattern 2015, 45 ft sport

Volume: medium and then 45ft was heavy

COMMENTS

Likes:  Handles oil great and also for me has a very predictable smooth roll

Dislikes:  Only works great for me when kept on tighter lines

My Nirvana is drilled with pin below middle finger, cg in palm, and mb just to the right of thumb.  This puts the pin about 5 from PAP.  This ball OOB was way too much for my league shot, threw some compound on it and the ball rolled great on THS and still kept a smooth reaction in the midlane for me.  On Nationals pattern I was able to take the surface back to 1500 grit.  Ball worked great from the outside, but once I had to move in and swing it out a little the ball definitely did not work great at that surface, left a lot of 10 pins.  On the 45 foot long pattern i was able to get a reaction out of the ball that a lot of others did not have.  This ball really shines when played in the oil.  This core and cover combo is great and just hoping they come out with a comparable hybrid or pearl to go along with it.

My Name is Doug Cutler and I am a DV8 Regional Staffer and I am doing my Post on the Brunswick Nirvana. I posted already on the Brunswick Nirvana and what I changed on it was the surface. The first Review I did the surface was right out of the box, and this time I brought the surface up to 4000 and it got a little shine and this ball now I am able to use it on more lane conditions. I have used this ball with the new surface on the Viper, THS, and USBC Blue 2. The difference in the 2 surfaces is the 4000 grit is much cleaner through the heads and is about 4 feet longer before it reads the lane and this is good when the heads go away and you need the ball to read farther down the lane and also if you are leaving weak corner pins this surface will help get the corners out. The Brunswick Nirvana is a Fantastic Ball and I am going to get another one so I have one with the Out of Box finish and also one with the 4000 so I can have a great one two punch.  So get your Brunswick Nirvana at your Local Pro Shop, and I promise you won't be disappointed.  #brusnwickbowling #brusnwicknirvana

The Nirvana is by far the most overall hooking ball to come out of Brunswick  date. The ball gets further down the lane than all of the previous heavy oil balls that I have ever thrown from the company. Don't let that fool you as this ball is super strong in the midlane and continues through the pins with a ton of energy. Great ball for moving into the big puddle at league or for longer sport patterns. Get yourself one today you will not be dissapointed!

This is my favorite ball in my arsenal.  I am a low rev high speed player.  I am using a 16 pound ball.  Since my rev rate is so slow and my speed is so high, I have difficulty getting very much hook out of any ball.

I started out not very happy with the box finish.  Then my pro shop operator suggested putting a polish on it.  He did the work so I do not know what polish he used.  It came back with a nice shine on it.  I tried it and still was not very happy with it.

I took it home and used a 1000 grit Siaair pad and wet sanded it.  I brought it back to the lanes and fell in love with this ball!  Next I used it in the local city tournament and came in 2nd place!  (I have just started bowling again after 35 years and this was my first tournament.)
